Indonesian Social Culture for (AEC) ASEAN Economic

Community
The leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) recently
concluded the 22nd ASEAN Summit in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Darussalam. On top of this meeting are preparations for 2015.
2015 marks the birth of the ASEAN Economic Community. It will mark the
start of free trade between the 10 member-countries. Products and services,
among other things, will have a single market and production base. Labor,
investments and capital will have a freer flow.
Economically speaking, some experts say that the region, more so the
Philippines, is not yet ready for economic integration. Aside from the fact
that the member-countries are not on the same level in terms of economic
growth, some countries also have unstable economies due to their political
contexts (i.e. Myanmar).
National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) Former Secretary-General
Romulo Virola in 2012 even said that the Philippines is not yet ready to
benefit from the economic integration in 2015 given that we still have to
focus on the problems of our local economy.
More than economics, however, the issues that were earlier raised, I think, is
of equal importance. The many unresolved differences in the region and the
lack of ASEAN identity might become stumbling blocks for the envisioned
economic integration. I believe that more focus should be given to such
issues to have a successful AEC.
Achievement of the MEA is done through four strategic stages, include:
attainment of a single market and a unified production base, a competitive
economic region, equitable economic growth and integrated with the global
economy. Facing the challenge Hipmi started preparing a number of
measures to face economic competition in 2020.
"Indonesia should be a player in the ASEAN economic community". To deal
with it all, from this moment Hipmi has taken a number of steps, among
others, to prepare and provide mentoring to entrepreneurs in order to be
able to face competition both in the domestic, regional and global.
Association seeks also giving attention to local entrepreneurs or in the area
in order to expand its business while expanding production market their

goods. Strengthening the competitiveness of the policy program has gained

special attention from the government, among others, the strengthening of
national SMEs. It is important to facilitate national SMEs are highly
competitive, innovative, and creative, and able to expand the market of the
ASEAN Economic Community.
Strategic Response Business Industry Nusantara
How Indonesia to address this open market, and what are the foundation for
formulating strategic responses? There are various approaches and
theorems, including:

See the power industry or the company's strength compared to

other similar company in the same industry. There are many that
can be used to reject decide objectively. How a company in an industry
or an industry to industry the same from other countries.
The ability of the power of money and funding. If The Power of
funds and strong funding, then the combination of both the above
power should give birth to the response strategy: aggressively invade
the market, take action preemptive to dominate the market, so enter
the MEA.

This strategy is a reality positioning that is, the company and the industry
needs to adopt entrepreneurial leadership for succesing the business goal of
them. Without adoption entrepreneurial leadership, feared the company
management set the agenda instead of attacking and fighting, but instead
fell into a prolonged scene analysis. Consequently paralyzed and will never
commit aggression, or if aggression is already very late and have preceded
the other guests. If the domestic industry is strong, but weak on funding,
then strategic responsenys can remain in competitive domain.
Conversely, a company or industry that had been harvesting business and
enjoy a variety of benefits as a result of a variety of tariff barriers and nontariff, in other words they have great financial strength, but power.
Competitiveness will be eroded as the free market is opened, it is necessary
to use the remaining time bit as good as possible. Strategic response it is
conservative defensive, there can be used the time to think about how to
improve the innovation process and production engineering. Or alliance to
improve competitiveness.

Thus, the response of business and industry are not uniform or not uniform.
Everything will be highly dependent on status positioning each of the power
industry and the company resulting from the regional competition business
mapping.
