Q1. Write summary Islamization of knowledge and the future the Ummah?
The Islamization of Knowledge is a project that concerns knowledge, learning, and education.
Islamization of Knowledge is a plan to reformulate Islamic thought, using as its starting
point Islamic beliefs and Islams humanitarian, global, and civilizational principles based
on tawhid and deputation. The plan aims at recapturing the positive, comprehensive Islamic
vision, with a view to reforming the approach to education, built on an in dissoluble integration
of divine and human knowledge. The plan addresses the reality of human life on earth with the
aim of realizing the purposes of Islamic Law namely, conciliation and welfare and observes the
principles of reason and the divine laws of the universe. It thus provides the necessary tools to
purify and refine Islamic culture and remove the distortions, and the superstition, charlatanism,
impurities, and illusions that have infiltrated it. Ultimately, it will provide sound educational and
cultural inputs to reform the mental and psychological constitution of Muslim individuals and of
the Ummah and raise generations endowed with strength, ability, and productivity.
Principles of the Islamization of knowledge:
These principles include:
To believe in the Oneness of Allaah The Almighty and reflecting this belief upon all
aspects of thought and activity.
To believe that man is the vicegerent of Allaah The Almighty on earth, and that He The
Almighty Has Subjugated all things in it to his service.
To believe in Islam's comprehensive nature and ability to lead the world in all disciplines.
To believe in the general nature of Islamic facts in all times, places and associated people.
To believe in the necessary agreement of the Divine revelation with the mind.
To make Muslims mindful of their religion and their role in life.
To unify the concepts and methods of Islamic thought.
Solutions and Recommendations:
It is noted that most of the solutions to the hindrances towards the progress mainly depend on the
constitutional, administrativeand policy making bodies of the country as education system and
policy are framed and contributed to by the policy makers in the government. We as the citizens
of the third largestMuslim country may expect that the government will adopt necessary steps to
eradicate the problems. As the change in the mindset of the government to Islamization takes
long time, it wont be wise for us feel ourselves disburdened assigning the government all
responsibilities. Yet positive campaign and demand targeting the government should be

undertaken simultaneously. Islamic scholars, institutions should play role of a herald cautiously
along with the common people who harbor a devotion to religion. It is our hope that these steps
if taken, shall make the future of Islamization of knowledge program brighter in than it is this
century today. Indeed, the Ummah will be toying with its future should it take the program of
Islamization of knowledge with levity.
