said that, We have a saying at JetBlue that youre either serving a customer or serving someone
who is serving a customer. He was able to work with his employees in a way that they are like a
family who work and help each other struggling to attain their goals in the organization. He first
build a good relationship with his subordinates as he lead and motivate them as they work.
Through his excellent leadership, he and his employees are able to serve the customers by
satisfying their needs, by showing their concern and by providing good service to each customer.
I admire him for prioritizing other people as he complied with the needs and wants of both
employees and the customers.
Neeleman is like a pilot staying in the cockpit, wherein there is always a competition.
You need to fight whether you will lose or win. As to in organization as well, you need to
struggle and fight the trials as you go along the way to meet organizational success. Through his
good leadership and good relationship with his people, he gained the respect and trust of his
employees and other people. He remained strong amidst the hardships they went through when
one of the JetBlue Flight crashed. He was able to motivate his people at that time. And through
teamwork and cooperation, the organization became successful. In fact, their organization are the
highest in terms of profit margins in the industry. The organization achieved its goals because
they chose the right people who have the qualities and potential capabilities to help contribute to
its organizational success. Neeleman as a contributor to people-oriented business, he was able to
understand the different stories of his employees by flipping every page of their books.
Like in story books, characters are the most important element inside it whereas in reality
people are the most important element in an organization. And amidst the hardship in the
organization, employees also want to feel that they are important, and thats what Neeleman did.
He treated his people right and make them feel how important they are in the organization. I
believe that people are not just commodities to be used to gain profit, they must also be treated
like a family. A good leader must understand their needs, be it physical, psychological or
emotional needs. Just like Harold Kushner once said, I think of life as a good book. The further
you get into it, the more it begins to make sense. As a professional in the future, dealing and
interacting with people is necessary to build good formal relationship with other people.
Knowing the life of other people is very interesting in a way that you will understand whats
really into them and the reasons behind their actions. To conclude this piece of work,
organizational behavior is not just interacting with other people in the organization but also on
how you commit yourself to them as you understand them better. Connect yourself with other
people like reading a book. As you flip the pages, you will get to know the characteristics and
behavior of the characters. In an organization, as you get along with other people, you will get
know who they really are as an employee and as a human being in the society.
