PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCE NIGHT 4:30pm to 8:00pm
You can receive your 6-weeks report card at that time. Counselors are also there tonight and
available to help students and parents with any questions or issues they may have.

Woodrow Wilson High School PTA Scholarship

Seniors apply now for a Woodrow Wilson High School PTA Scholarship. You must have a GPA of 80 or above and submit the following to be considered for the
scholarship:
1. Completed application form. Download form at:

2. At least 2 letters of recommendation from your high school faculty or counselor
3. Transcript and a copy of ACT/SAT scores.
This application is due on (April 9, 2010). Return applications to: Your Woodrow Counselor. Please direct any questions to Cynthia CreMeens at
rcremeens@tx.rr.com or (214) 321-2610. The winners of these scholarships will be announced at the Senior Assembly in May. NOTE: Scholarships will
only be paid DIRECTLY to the College. If you receive a full scholarship from a school or organization including fees and room
and board or your family income is over $90,000.00 then you will not qualify for this scholarship.

Do you have some dresses in your closet that you need to get rid of? Old prom dresses, bridesmaid dresses, or even a cocktail dress that you are just sick of
wearing? We invite you to Ditch the Dress for a great cause. Young Lives is mentoring program that reaches out to teen-age mothers and pregnant teens.
There is a dynamic chapter of Young Lives at Woodrow. The organization is a division of Young Life, and there are other Young Lives groups in the Dallas area.
Ditch the Dress is raising funds for summer camp for Young Lives girls and their babies. The camp is an opportunity to encourage, motivate, and mentor the
young mothers in a concentrated and spiritual environment. Since the cost of camp is beyond the means of most of our Young Lives girls, we are trying to

help?
 DONATE YOUR DRESSES: Drop off any old dresses (semi-formal and formal) on Friday, March 26 from 10:00 am – 6:00pm at Fellowship Bible
Church (9330 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, 75231; the old United Artists movie theater at Park and 75)
 SHOP: All dresses will be for sale for only $25 each and all proceeds will benefit YoungLives. Shopping date is Saturday, March 27 from 10:00 – 5:00
at Fellowship Bible Church. Also, if you donate a dress then you are invited to the 9:00 pre-sale to get first dibs on the dresses.

 VOLUNTEER: If you have extra time on Friday or Saturday to help with the preparation or the sale, please let us know. Thanks so much and please
pass this along to all of your friends. Think of this as a spring cleaning opportunity. All those old formals, bridesmaid dresses, and cocktail dresses
could find new life in someone else's closet. Trade in any old dress that is in good shape, then go shopping for a good cause! Forward this on to any
girls who might have some goods in their closet. If you want to donate but don't have time to drop stuff off, feel free to give it Becca or Emily to take.

 WILDCAT BASKETBALL
Many Wildcat fans were in the house when the Varsity Basketball team played Kimball
High School in the Regional Quarter Finals last Monday. The Wildcats played hard but
lost 58-81. Congratulations on a well-played season and making it to the playoffs!

The Wildcats lost to St. Marks 1-6, to Hillcrest The Lady Wildcats beat Seagoville 4-1 last
4-6, and to Palmer 6-9 in the Hillcrest Wednesday, but lost to North Dallas 0-2
Tournament last week. on Saturday.

The Wildcats tied Seagoville 3-3
The Varsity Softball team will play Bryan
last Tuesday.

REGISTRATION FOR DUAL

CREDIT COURSE
There will be another registration period for
the stateu.com internet dual credit course
program that starts on March 22. It is an 8-
week course in government, English 4 fall and
spring and Psychology. See the PSAT and
TAKS requirements mailed out before. All you
pay for are books. This is a fast-paced
program, however and you must be
committed. The DEADLINE to register
(everything done) is March 8. See your
counselor ASAP for more details.

The Woodrow library has a lot of recent college search resources. These are the latest: ASVAB, 3rd
edition core review (This is used in military job placement); KAPLAN ACT, 2010 edition: strategies,
practice and review; KAPLAN SAT, 2010 Edition: More practice online. Tell them Ms. Odeski sent you.

CAMP ENTERPRISE
This camp is for current
Juniors and takes place on
August 26-29, 2010. It is sponsored by
the "Rotary", an international organization
of business leaders who also support
Woodrow's "Interact Club". You stay at
Camp Hoblitzelle in Midlothian, Texas and
get on teams with kids from schools all over
Texas to simulate running a company.
Those on the winning team get laptops.
The Application deadline is March 31,

$500 EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Are you a girl between the ages of 10 and 18 who has
won a top award in Texas? This is your opportunity to be
recognized. $500 Educational scholarship will be
awarded for the top submissions. If you have received
top honors in science, math, music, dance, drama,
writing, sports, cheerleading, National awards and more
submit your information to the Women's Museum by July
11, 2009. The event will be displayed on September 24-
October 17 at the Women's Museum. Go to:

SUMMER LAW INTERN
PROGRAM
For Juniors only and application deadline is Friday, April 16, 2010.
Application is in counseling office. Spend your summer working as
a young professional in the legal community of Dallas. Interns
selected for employment will earn $8.00+ an hour for up to eight
weeks. 4 students will be chosen per campus to interview and 1
will receive the job.
Criteria:
1. Be a DISD high school junior in current school year.
2. Have an academic average of 85+
3. Have no more than 10 absences
4. Be available to work normal office hours, Monday through
Friday, between June 14-August 6, 2010 (4 or 8 weeks)
5. Have dependable transportation or access to DART during the
summer;
**Most employers are located in downtown Dallas, but some are
further away.
6. Be available to Interview at your school during May 11, 12, or 13.
Submit an application by the deadline to Ms. Smiley in Counseling:
1. a completed essay page (100+words)
2. A cover letter & resume outlining your experience and
accomplishments
3. 2 letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, school
administrators, or employers--letters from friends, relatives or
acquaintances will not be accepted.
4. a copy of your transcript from counselor
5. Sign the Learning Agreement signed and dated by you and your
guardian.

SUMMER PROGRAM

accounting careers awareness program. For

top 10% of your class, outstanding African-
