General Wage Adjustments
1% effective June 30, 2013 awarded prior to any applicable market adjustments
1% effective June 29, 2014 awarded prior to any applicable market adjustments
NOTE: Excludes employees who received Unsatisfactory Performance in their most recent performance evaluation
and supervisors who did not complete all subordinate performance evaluations.
Implementation of Classification Surveys (effective June 30, 2013)
Law Enforcement Dispatchers and Supervisors
Structural Engineer Transportation and Supervisors
Environmental Analysis and Review Specialists
Consumer Protection Investigators, Motor Carrier Investigators and Supervisors
Implementation of Broadbanding
Effective June 30, 2013, classifications in pay schedule 14 will be broadbanded. Broadbanding is a pay system
that allows flexibility in setting pay for new hires, promotions, transfers, etc.
WisDOT classifications in pay schedule 14 include the following classification series: Civil Engineer
Transportation, Structural Engineer Transportation, Engineering Specialist Transportation, Landscape Architect,
CADDS Specialist, Architect, Surveyor, Electrical Engineer, Electronic Engineer and Frequency Specialist.
Implementation of Market Adjustments (as identified in Section L of the Compensation Plan)
Effective June 30, 2013, market adjustments for eligible employees in the following classifications:
o Civil Engineer Transportation Senior, Advanced and Supervisor
o Structural Engineer Transportation Senior, Advanced and Supervisor
o DOT Engineering Chief and DOT Technical Services Chief
Effective June 29, 2014, implementation of new broadband structure and corresponding market adjustments for
eligible employees in various Information Systems (IS) classifications
Discretionary Merit Compensation (DMC) Program Changes (split into 2 programs)
o Discretionary Merit Compensation (DMC)
Economic recognition for merit/performance only
Eligible employees include all permanent and unclassified employees
May be awarded in lump sum payments or base building
Up to four within range pay steps per fiscal year
Not eligible if employee received pay upon appointment within previous 12 months
o Discretionary Equity and Retention Adjustment (DERA)
Economic pay for equity or retention only
Eligible employees in broadband pay ranges only
Up to four within range pay steps per fiscal year
Travel Expense Reimbursement
Travel expense reimbursement amounts for business purposes remain the same with the exception of the
following meal expenses:
o In State: Lunch increased to $10.00, Dinner increased to $20.00
o Out of State: Lunch increased to $15.00, Dinner increased to $25.00
Pay Progression
All pay progression that has been in place over the past several years will remain intact.

Supplemental Add-On Pay


All supplemental add-on pay provisions and amounts remain the same.
