Childrens Leadership Teams

With the departure of Kara Wheeler, we as a church
have decided to staff the leadership of the preschool

Sapp as the primary staff contact. We will continue
to meet with parents and members to better define
what we as a church want the childrens ministry to
be in the future. If you have questions or concerns,
please contact the leadership teams listed below or

Focus on Lords Prayer

The Lords Prayer from Matthew
6:9-13 is a beautiful way to introduce prayer to your young children. It very carefully walks them
through the various phases of
prayer such as praise, adoration,
request, forgiveness, direction/
guidance, honor/respect and closing amen.

Being Saved by Sarah Reams

Being saved has changed my life in a
great many ways. First, I feel much
closer to God than I ever have at
any other time in my life. I pray for
strength and guidance whenever I
have something difficult to do. I
also pray when a loved one is hurt.
Before I say something to another

person, I always stop and think

Would you like it if someone said
that to you? I take the Ten Commandments into thought and try to
live my life by them. I try to be
truthful with my parents, and never
lie or steal (not that I would steal
anyway). At school, whenever I

Being saved
hear someone contradict God or
take his name in vain, I try my best
to correct them in an understanding way. Being saved gives me the
comfort of salvation and it has
changed my life. The experience of
being saved has strengthened my
relationship with God.

gives me the
comfort of
salvation and
it has changed
my life.

The children have been learning songs related to the September Bible verse Psalms 118:24. The song titles are This is the
Day by Mark Burrows and The Whole World Sings Alleluia by

Wayne Wold. The children will also be working on the

songs for the musical, Where is the Newborn King? by

The Children's Ministry staff and volunteers of

Second-Ponce de Leon welcome you and look forward
to serving you.
Whether you are a new member or a guest, we
are here to provide for your child's needs during his or
her time with us.
Our mission in the Children's Ministry is to supplement the family as they lay down a spiritual foundation that, in God's timing, will lead a child into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, Let the little children come to me
and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these (Mark 10:14). At Second-Ponce
we believe that children are an integral part of our
church family and seek to provide opportunities to nurture their growth.

Dr. David Sapp

We would like to suggest that you

pick a family within the church to
pray for this month. You never know
what struggles a family might be experiencing. Pray that God would
wrap his loving, comforting, all powerful hands around them this month.
That they might have a renewed passion for Christ and His Church. If
you feel led, send the family a note
during the month to let them know
that you will be praying for them.
Be confident in your prayers. A guest
minister once proclaimed from the
pulpit, If you are going to worry,
why pray and if you are going to pray,
why worry. God is big enough for
all of your concerns and challenges.
Teach your children to come boldly
before the throne of God.

The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power

and produces wonderful results.
