An Observation Guide for Assisting Teacher
1. What are the objectives of the lesson?
Nakapagkilala sa mga uri ng pang-abay
Nakapagbubuo ng pangungusap gamit ang pang-abay na
pamaraan, pamanahon, at panlunan
Nakapagtalakay sa kahalagahan ng wastong pagtapon ng basura
2. How do the learners participate in the learning activities?
The learners participate in the learning activities by raising their
hands when they wanted to answer, sometimes they answer directly
without being called or answer in chorus, and when they are called
to answer, there are some who are quick to respond while others are
slow in responding.
3. What instructional materials are employed?
The instructional materials employed are visual aids, and the use of
the chalkboard and colored chalks.
4. How does the teacher assess the learning in the lesson? Is she
assessing the process or the product?
The teacher assessed the learning in the lesson by giving the pupils
some board work and also oral assessment wherein the teacher asks
the pupils to make sentences using Pang-abay na pamaraaan,
pamanahon, at panlunan. The teacher is assessing the process
wherein she is looking on how the pupils did the activity.
5. What reasons does the teacher give in having such learning
activities?
The reasons why she gives those learning activities are that it
promotes retention of what was discussed earlier and also analyzing
each item whether they are Pang-abay na pamaraaan, pamanahon,
at panlunan. In addition, it also enhances their language skills
specifically in the construction of sentences.

Teachers Activity

Selection of questions in a bowl (bunot - bunot) attached with an edible
reinforcement

Describe the learning behaviors of the learners

Some of the pupils were making unnecessary noise during the
discussion and they were not very engaged to the discussion and they
were doing something else such as talking with their seatmates,
playing with something and etc. Also, other pupils were constantly
yawning so they just slouch on their seats. On the other hand, other
pupils were very active in raising their hands and answer the questions
given by the teacher, in short, they were responsive. When the teacher
let the pupils see the bowl containing the food, they were
automatically energized and then they wanted to answer to receive
the food.

Theories of Learning applied by the teacher

Operant Conditioning theory in giving of reinforcements such as the
edible reinforcements, praises such as tama!, magaling!, and etc.
Negative reinforcement was also employed when the pupils were
asked to remain standing if not able to give the correct answer.
S R Theory specifically Law of Readiness in giving the motivation
and getting the pupils ready for the new lesson and Law of Exercise by
letting the pupils repeat their answer/repetition.
Classical Conditioning
Your own suggested activity, materials, or assessment that are
more appropriate.
Activity Group activity wherein they have to make 9 sentences using
Pang-abay na pamaraaan, pamanahon, at panlunan. 3 sentences for
each Uri ng Pang-abay.
Materials pictures so pupils can observe and view examples of each
Uri ng Pang-abay.
Assessment paper and pencil test can also be employed so that you
will really observe those who are really listening to the discussion and
those who are doing other things during the discussion.

Reasons for your suggested activity, materials, or assessment.

I choose this activity, materials and assessment because I think this

will help the pupils be more engaged in the learning process and also
develop their socialization skills in dealing with their classmates in a
group. Pictures will also entice them into participating and listening to
the discussion especially colored and attractive pictures. Also in the
paper and pencil test, this will be one of the bases if they were
listening to the discussion.

Identify equivalent fractions
Respect other differences
Solve for finding equivalent fractions
2. How do the learners participate in the learning activities?
The learners participate in the learning activities by raising their
hands when they wanted to answer, sometimes they answer directly
without being called or answer in chorus, and when they are called

The instructional materials employed are visual aids and board work.
4. How does the teacher assess the learning in the lesson? Is she
assessing the process or the product?
The teacher assessed the learning in the lesson by giving the pupils
some board work, group activity and paper and pencil test about
Equivalent Fractions. The teacher is assessing the product through
the paper and pencil test. The teacher is also assessing the process
wherein she is looking on how the pupils did the activity especially in
solving.
5. What reasons does the teacher give in having such learning
activities?
The reasons why she gives those learning activities are that it
promotes cooperation and agreement in a group, mathematical skills
will be developed especially in dealing with fractions, alertness and
responsiveness will also be enhanced when asked to answer some
problems.

Describe the learning behaviors of the learners
The learners actively participated in the discussion. From the start of
the class, they are engaged and very enthusiastic as they did an
action song Lets take a Walk. During the lesson proper, others were
very attentive and lively in raising their hands while other pupils were

busy doing something else and they were laughing, talking and
standing. As what I have observed, the pupils at the back tend to be
out of focus maybe because they feel/are far from the teacher
discussing in front.

Theories of Learning applied by the teacher

Operant Conditioning theory in giving of positive comments such as
saying Very Good!, Marvelous!, Wonderful! and other praises.
S R Theory specifically Law of Readiness for the motivation, and
Law of Effect in engaging the students in the discussion.

go to the board and solve some problems about Equivalent fractions.
Materials pictures and realia to concretely grasp the concept of
Fractions.

Reasons for your suggested activity, materials, or assessment.
I have come up with this activity, materials and assessment because
this will test the pupils if they need have acquired knowledge with the
new information presented to them and if they need or if they need

Nakapagkilala sa mga karapatan sa buhay
Nakapagpapakita ng mga angking talento
Nakapagtalakay sa kahalagahan ng bawat karapatan
2. How do the learners participate in the learning activities?
The learners participate in the learning activities by raising their
hands eagerly, also answering without being called/answer in
chorus, giving confidently their ideas about each karapatan.
3. What instructional materials are employed?
The instructional material employed is only the chalkboard.
4. How does the teacher assess the learning in the lesson? Is she
assessing the process or the product?
The teacher assessed the learning in the lesson by frequently asking
them divergent questions that enables them to think critically. Also,
the teacher asked few pupils to show off their talents because one of
the rights was all about developing the talent and skills so she is
assessing the process wherein she is looking on how the pupils did
the activity.
5. What reasons does the teacher give in having such learning
activities?
The reason why the teacher gives those learning activity is for the
pupils to enhance their higher order thinking skills (HOTS). Not only
mere memorization and comprehension but also having the deeper
meaning/understanding of each karapatan. In addition, to enable
them to enhance their different talents in the classroom.

Describe the learning behaviors of the learners

The pupils are a bit noisy. When the teacher is talking, some of them
are also talking and making unnecessary noise. But still others are
very engaged in the discussion and were very responsive to the
teacher. Some of them were just silent in their seats but they become
involved when they are called by the teacher to answer.

Theories of Learning applied by the teacher

Operant Conditioning theory in giving of positive comments such as
saying Tama!, Magaling!, Tumpak! and other praises.
S R Theory Law of Effect wherein the pupils are enjoying the
discussion especially that they can relate to it because it is all about a
Childs right. Law of Exercise by letting some pupils repeat the answers
of their classmates.

Constructivist Learning Theory through the teachers way of

questioning, pupils reflect on each question and construct their own
knowledge.
Classical Conditioning

Your own suggested activity, materials, or assessment that are more

appropriate.
Activity Group activity wherein they could share about each
karapatan and how people should exercise these Rights. Then have it
as a role play.
Materials pictures should also be utilized so they will have a clear
idea of each karapatan.
Assessment paper and pencil test can also be employed so that you
will really observe those who are really listening to the discussion and
those who are doing other things during the discussion.

Reasons for your suggested activity, materials, or assessment.

My suggested activity would be group activity so that they will learn to
work together as a group. They will learn to socialize especially with
their classmates and respect each others idea about each Karapatan.
My suggested materials are also pictures so they will be able to see
have a clear idea of each Karapatan.
