Business are increasingly investing in connectivity of their computing facilities. They therefore seek for competent network administrators who can design, configure, troubleshoot and administer networks. Cisco networking equipment are one of the commonly used switches and routers in business today. The Institute of Finance Management announces the workshop on cisco network administration to provide participants with knowledge and skills on effective designing, configuring and administering network systems using cisco devices. Learning Outcomes At the end of the training, participants are expected to be able to: 1. Understand fundamentals of internetworking. 2. Understanding Ethernet Technology and design of an effective network. 3. Cisco router and switch configurations and troubleshooting. 4. Routing protocols configuration. 5. Configure and administer security policies in cisco routers and switches. 6. Troubleshoot network problems. 7. Acquire all necessary knowledge and skills that it takes to sitting for CCNA certifications. Course Contents Introduction to networking, OSI, TCP/IP etc. IP addressing scheme(IPV4 and IPV6) LAN design & network cabling. Cisco router &switch configuration. Protocols (RIP, IGRP, EIGPR, OSPF, ICMP, ARP, RARP, SSH, STP). Access control list (ACL), port security and firewalls. DHCP, NAT and PAT. Virtual network segmentation (VLAN, inter-VLAN). Wireless network. Network security (CIA triad). Target group This training is relevant to middle and technical level ICT staffs. It is therefore designed to accommodate network analysts and designers, network administrators, and network managers. The training is also most useful for those intending to sit for CCNA certification exams. Training Approach Delivery approach will be through a series of lectures, practical to gives participants hand-on skill, group discussions and presentations. Venue and Dates Dar es Salaam at IFM main campus from 28/09/2015 to 02/10/2015 Time: 1000hrs to 1600hrs. Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, the Institute of Finance Management will issue a certificate of attendance. Fees A fee of TZS 1,200,000/= will be charged to cover training materials, breakfast, refreshments, lunch and certificate of participation. Participants will have to arrange for their own lodge.
