Use of free-furnished residence and Government conveqance on
relinquishing office.-6. A Minister shall be &titled to the privilege of the
use oi the free furnished residence and Goverment conveyance an his ceasins
to hoid office for such period as prescribed by rules.
Travelling and daily allowances.-7.
Every Minister shall be
entitled, wbile touring on public business, to travelling and daily allowances
at such rates-and on such conditions as may be prescribed by rules.

Mediul attendance and treatment.- 8. A Minister, shall bc


entitled free of charge to accommodation in hospitals maintained or approved
in this behalf by the Goverment and also to fret medical treatment:
Explanation.-For tbt purpose of this section, a 'Minister' shall include his wife, his children, step-children, minor brother and parants wholly
dependent on him.

notification in the Official Gazette, make rules for carrying out the purpose
of this Act.
Power to make rules.-10.

(2) All rules made under this Act sbdl be laih before the Nagaland
Legishtive..Assmbly, as .soon as may be, after they are made and sbal1 be
subject to-suchmodifications as the Legislative Assembly may make.

It is expedient to amend the Nagaland Ministers Salaries and
Allowances Act, 1964 (Nagaland Act, No. 4 of1964), hereinarter
called thc Principal Acl, in the manner hereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted in the Twentieth year of the Republic of
India as iollows :
1. Short title and commencement.

(1) This Acl may be called Nagaland Ministers' Salaries and


Allowances (Amendment] Acl, 1969.
(2) It shall come into forcc with cffecr from 1st Seprembcr, 1969.

2. Amendment of Section 4 of the Nagatand Act, No. 4 or 1964.


I n sub-section (2) of Section 4 of the Principal Acl, the wards
"Parliamentary Secretary shall be enlitled to a conveyance allorvance of rupees one hundred and fifty per memcm" appearing

Further to amend the Nagaland Minislcr' Salaries and Allowances


Acr, 1964.

It is hereby enacted by Nagaland State Legislature in the Thirty

Ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows :

I. Short title and comrnencemrnt :


(1) This Act may be called the Nagaland Ministers' Salaries and
Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1988.
(2) It shall be deerncd to have come into force with effect from
the 1st December, 1987.

2. Amendmen1 of Seclion 3 of the Na'galand Ministers' Salaries and

Allow?ances Act, 1964.


'rbe proviso to Sub-Section (2) of Section 3 of the Nagaland
Mioistcrs' Salaries and Allowances Act, 1964 shall be substituted
by the Iollowing, namely :
"Providcd that if the Chief Minister, a Minister, Minister of State,
Deputy Minister or Parliamentary Secretary does not occupy the
free furnished residence provided by the Government, a house
rent allowmcc at the rate given here-in-after in lieu of such
residence shall bc paid. In such case, rent payable shall be at the
applicable rate as laid down by the P.W.D. equivalent to the
rental value of the free furnished residcnce which would have
heen provided by the Govcrnrnent at the public expense.
In addition such allowance for service and facilities s h d be paid
as may be prescribed by rules".

AMENDMENT OF SECTION 2 :

Section 2 of the Nagaland Minister's Salaries and Allowances Act 1964 (Nagaland Act No. 4 of 19641, sha1I be substituted b:

To the Chief Minister, a salary of Rupees Ten Thousand pe

AMlENDMENT OF SECTION 4,
Sub-section (2) of Sec~ion4 of the Principal Act shall be deleted.
