SUPERMAN
THE HISTORY
Action comics published the very first superman comic. Written by Jerry Seigel in June. 1930. Supermans
real name is Kal-El. He is the son of for-El and Lara of the planet Krypton. He came to Earth as a baby when
Krypton was destroyed. As a boy, Kal-El lived with Jonathan and Martha Kent, in Smallville, U.S.A. They
called him Clark. Clark discovered his amazing powers as a teenager. He decided to use his powers to help
the people of Earth.
HIS POWERS AND HIS WEAKNESSES
Superman can fly very quickly. He is extremely strong. He can hear and see things much better than
humans. He also has a mind like a computer. He can speak all the languages of Earth. Superman is very
powerful. he has few weaknesses one of them of course, is Kryptonite. This is stone from planet Krypton It
can kill him. Also Superman has no power over magic.
Superman has a number of special suits. Superman can increase his powers because of these special suits.
With him spacesuit he can breathe in space. It also helps him to fly faster than the speed of light. With his
underwater suit he can stay in the sea for a long time.
THE MAN
In normal life Superman is Clark Kent. He is a reporter for The Daily Planet newspaper. He is a quiet,
regular guy. With his co-worker, Lois Lane, he looks for crime stories. Lois is a brave reporter. Superman
and Lois are married, and she is aware of his secret identity. His friends at The Daily Planet are Jimmy
Olsen, a young photographer, and Angela Chen. She appears on the news program Metropolis Today. The
initials L. L. are important for Superman. When he was a boy, his best friend was a girl called Lana Lang.
Lois Lane is the woman he loves. Lex Luthor, a powerful criminal in the city of Metropolis, is his worst
enemy.
