concernedaboutsplinteringedges.Toaccomodate10peopleyouneedatableat
least8longandoptimally10long.Ifitsjustforoccasionaluse,youcouldjustadd
onecardtable(4242)tooneend.Ifyouneedasturdiersolutionyoumightwant

meansurefromthefurniture,notthewall.Themostimportantthingtoconsideris
clearancebetweenthechairandthenextclosestthing(wallorbuffet).Basedon
yourroomsize,a4tablewouldbemoretoscalebutIunderstandthatyoumight
bewillingtogiveupalittlecomforttohavemorepeopleatyourtable.Themore

Wearestrugglingwithtabledimensionsforourkitchen.Wehaveanopenlayout
fromfamilyroom,eatingareaandkitchen.Thecarpet/woodfloorlinemakeanice
divingline.Oureatingspaceis8.5ftx7.5.However,thatisnotwalledinand
includesextraspaceararound.Wewerelookingata60tablebutarewonderingif
thatstoobig.48seemssmall.Weareafamilyof4,butoftenhaveotherkiddos
joiningus.Thecardtablemustgoafter8months!

Mykitchenspaceforatableis910x95.Onewallhasadoorwall,theopposite
wallhasthedoortothelaundryroom.Theothersareopenonetothefamilyroom
andtheothertothekitchen.Numberofpeopleatthetableisnotasimportantas
howthetablefillsthespace.Doyouthinka54roundtablewouldbetoolargefor
thisspace?ThetableIhavenowis54x41anditlooksfine,butIwouldliketo

Heresafunnyquestionaboutapotentialpedestalproblem.Howmuchfootroom
needstobeunderatable?Orinotherwords,howfardoesachairnormallyget
pushedinbeneathatablefordining?ArectangulartableIabsolutelylove(but
haventpurchasedyet)hastworoundpedestalbases.Myteenagesonsayshell
havetoputhisfeetonthepedestals,whenthetableisconfiguredfor6chairs,
(with2chairsonthelongsides).Doeshehaveapoint?Ihavenoticedthatnoother
pedestaltablesseemtobejustlikethisone
