6 Cool Major Scale Sequences to Get Better

If youre new to scale

sequences I suggest you check
out 6 Basic Major Scale
Sequences / Melodic Patterns
first. Thats where I explain
why and how you should
practice scale sequences.
This is Part II of the previous
post and if you got the basic
scale sequences under your
belt youre pretty much up
for this challenge.
I recommend you play these
sequenses along with a metronome: www.metronomeonline.com Its the best way
to make progress in accuracy and speed. Start out really slow and gradually build up
your speed. Only go faster when you can play each note clear and correctly.
The sequences are for the intermediate and advanced. They are tricky but incredibly
fun to play.
Enjoy and improve!

I have finall removed my gloves and tried this. It certainly made me think and after
about ten minutes i found myself using open strings again instead of the 5 on the
6542 and 4 on the 3. I suppose its hard to break old habits. But its good if you need to
change key (Unless you are in Cb on the third floor!)

Hi Native,
Its good that you learn to play scales properly and up to speed, but at the same time
you need to learn to make melody with the scales.
Make use of bend ups, hammer ons, pull offs, slides, etc. Learn licks that are based
around the scale.
And very important is learn good phrasing. (playing with dynamics, pauses, the
expressive shaping of the notes)
Good luck to you!
Best regards,
Klaus Crow
