Nou Ke Akua Ke Aupuni O Hawaii

To: Ka Lhui Hawaii
Subject: Do Not Be Deceived.
Aloha Kkou e Ka Lhui Hawai'i,
Over many years of remembrance, I can recall the numerous groups that endeavored to move their
agenda forward when working with OHA, the State of Hawaii, and the Federal Government of the
United States, as they created the notion of a nation within a nation, an Orwellian Double Speak
term. As sovereigns with international Treaties granting us Nation to Nation relationships with
other Sovereigns, it is an insult to our intelligence and integrity to even entertain nation within a
nation.
Today, that same energy continues. Na`i Aupuni is no different than Kau inoa, Kanaiolowalu and
that which Akaka and Inouye wanted to do. Each group seeks to destroy the Kingdoms right to full
independence, by convincing everyone that accepting nation within a nation is best.
If you will take the time to listen to the voices of our ancestors, you will come to understand that
the ultimate goal of nation within a nation is to divide and weaken the Hawaiian culture, so
that over time, the Hawaiian nation will simply become a footnote in history. Our ancestors
fought valiantly for us to live as we were meant to live, as a free Hawaiian Nation.
Those who promote this, view us as a RACE of people. We are not! We are INDIGENOUS to Hawaii.
We are, and have always been, a Nation! Akua ordained us to BE a Nation unto God, which is a
nation unto Him. Today, we are the Kingdom of Hawaii, built on the wisdom of our ancestors and
the contributions of people of other ancestries that have joined us.

The United Nations Charter provides the rest of the authority to do it. (An autonomous independent sovereign nation-state contemplated
under Article 1 of the 1933 Montevideo Convention on Rights and Duties of States requiring the state as a person of international law
possessing the four qualifications of (a) a permanent population, (b) a defined territory, c) government;
and (d) capacity to enter into relations with the other states.)

Historical connection to these islands began as early as 400 (C.E.) Common Era
Kamehameha the Great, whose full name is Kalani Paiea Wohi o Kaleikini Kealiikui Kamehameha o
Iolani i Kaiwikapu kaui Ka Liholiho Knuikea, conquered most of the Hawaiian Islands and
formally established the government of the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1810. He became the First King
(Moi) of the entire Hawaiian Archipelago.
In February 1843, British Captain Lord George Paulet pressured Kamehameha III into surrendering
the Hawaiian Kingdom to the British crown, but Kamehameha III alerted London of the Captain's
rogue actions, which eventually restored the Kingdom's independence. Less than five months later,
British Admiral Richard Thomas rejected Paulet's actions, and the Kingdom was restored on
July 31, 1843.
It was at the end of this period of uncertainty, that the King uttered the phrase that eventually
became Hawaiis motto: Ua Mau ke Ea o ka ina i ka Pono "The life of the land is perpetuated in
righteousness." July 31st was celebrated thereafter as L Hoihoi Ea, Sovereignty Restoration Day,
and became an official national holiday of the kingdom. Later that year, on November 28th, Britain
and France officially recognized the independence of the Hawaiian Kingdom, and that too became a
national holiday, L Kokoa Independence Day.
Significant
During our history as a Nation, weve never entertained the idea of being subservient to another
nation. A nation within a nation makes us subservient to the United States. Why would we consider
negotiating our hard earned prosperity with the evils of a nation that overthrew our beloved Queen
and stole these Hawaiian Islands for their personal and political gains? Its like a thief that steals
your house that even though he has taken the main house, you ask him if he would consider giving
you the garage to live in.
Concerns in real time
Our world is unstable. However, let us suppose that World War III breaks out and we are a nation
within the Federal Government of the United States... what do you think will happen to these
Hawaiian Islands, and to us? Isnt it true that North Korea has already threatened to launch their
Nuclear Missiles against the Hawaiian Islands? And that out of pure hatred for the United States,
North Korea is willing to destroy these Hawaiian Islands and all innocents not involved with
warring conflicts. The evil they hold against the United States is unmeasured.

Should they launch their Missiles, there arent any counter measures to stop the incoming deadly
instruments of death. The Star Wars project started by President Carter has not been perfected,
and there arent any other projects on the table to combat incoming Nuclear Missiles.
To consider becoming a nation within a nation is playing with Fire; you would be giving up much
more than your freedom; you would be inviting Armageddon into your front yard and potentially
be used as collateral damage. This is the reality that you are inviting into our homes by creating a
nation within a nation government with the United States of America.
I am perplexed, even flabbergasted, that for a couple of hundred thousand dollars our People would
consider selling our beloved inheritance, our future generations birthright!
It is very clear OHA and the State of Hawai`i are trying to extinguish the Kingdom. They are
attempting to divide the people of Hawaiian ancestry from the whole population in order to create a
semi-independent government that will be dominated by the U.S Department of Interior. It is to
their advantage to do this, not yours. The Invaders policies only serve their interest, we have over
a century of documented proof. We must discern the truth about the motives of these less-thanhonest Government Agents.
In speaking with the First Nations leaders of today, each of them have told me, it would be a
travesty for the Hawaiians to go down this path. They warned me that our children and
grandchildren will suffer the consequences.
We do not have a precedent in our lifetime to know exactly what it means to live as a nation
within a nation. But we do have a firsthand account of what exactly happened to the First
Nations people when they did so. Look at their socio/political/economic reality. Failed
systems that have resulted in some of the lowest life expectancy rates in the world along
with all of the other ills of oppression and poverty.
Pearl Daniel-Means, of the Navaho Nation, had this to say about the heartbreaking consequences of
the First Nations Peoples of America, when they acquiesced under duress into nation within a
nation status:
Should the United States Government attempt to negotiate a Nation within a Nation status
with the Kingdom of Hawaii, take note of what has happened to the First Nations Peoples of
America. Quasi-sovereignty is what the First Nations of America have. Self-rule under federal
supervision is not sovereignty.

When you stand on your legal lawful rights, it is irresponsible to compromise your rightful
position. The moment The Kingdom of Hawaii begins negotiating their rights they will have
immediately lost those rights. Politics is the art of compromise, where true Leadership is based
on principles.
That spark of light the American Indian Movement lit in the 1970s is dim and almost gone. We
now look to you, our Hawaiian relatives to unite and ignite that light, and move this
Independence Movement forward. Your position is legal and lawful and your time is now.
We stand with you in solidarity as you make your next move it is a tremendous step forward
for all of us in the indigenous world.
We no longer have time to be idle, when our homelands are being desecrated, our water our
lifeline continually poisoned and our children being stolen. As we witness all things we hold
sacred and holy continually under attack, Im reminded of Russells words, Everyone should
get angry at injustice. People who dont certainly arent spiritual people.
"The truth of "nation within a nation" is that it is not pono." I encourage each of you to research for
yourself. What would our ancestors do? Remember, we have a responsibility to our next seven
generations. Forming a nation within a nation status will ultimately leave our People in poverty,
living under the roof of stress, anger, and despair.
Queen Lili`uokalani, died with a broken heart; believing that the United States would do the right
thing by her and have they? No! So what makes you think, Nai Aupuni and creating a nation
within a nation will be any different than what the First Nations advises against, and what our
Queen tried to protect us from?
...He will keep His promise, and will listen to the voices of His Hawaiian children lamenting for
their homes. It is for them that I would give the last drop of my blood; it is for them that I
would spend, nay, am spending, everything belonging to me. Queen Liliuokalani

My closing thoughts ...

Why would we sign our own death warrants by creating a nation within a nation government? We
have tremendous international support. Nations around the world are standing with us as we
continue to restore our Nation. They stand with us because they know our cause is legal, lawful and
just. The Kingdom of Hawaii is your nation since time immemorial.
