PRIMAL ICC-3
100% Acrylic Emulsion Polymer for a Variety of Construction Coatings
Description
Primal ICC-3 acrylic emulsion is a water based 100% acrylic polymer designed for premium performance in
exterior and interior construction coatings. Primal ICC-3 acrylic emulsion blended with nano silica inorganic
binder has been shown to produce low odor, low VOC, hard and chemically resistant coatings with outstanding
UV and block resistance.
Primal ICC-3 acrylic emulsion has good compatibility with most coatings ingredients and particularly good
response to rheology modifiers, resulting in coatings with excellent flow and leveling. Primal ICC-3 is a small
particle size acrylic emulsion with high water resistance and film clarity.

FORMULATION GUIDELINES
Nano silica inorganic binder
Rohm and Haas SEA-ANZ distributor, Connell Bros Company, have independently developed formulations based
on their CB102 inorganic binder to produce high quality industrial finishes for Wood, Metal and Roof Tile &
Siding application.

Pigments
The choice of proper titanium dioxide grade is an important factor in achieving desired balance of appearance
and resistance properties. A major advantage of Primal ICC-3 is the compatibility it offers with a wide
variety of slurry grade titanium dioxides.
Coalescents
Texanol is a recommended coalescent for use with Primal ICC-3, and levels in the range of 7 to 10% on
binder solids are adequate.
Preservatives
Formulations based on Primal ICC-3 can be effectively preserved with Kathon LX 1.5% microbicide.
Kathon LX 1.5% protects the paint through storage, transport and end-use. The recommended level of
addition is 25 ppm.
Mildew Protection
Primal ICC-3 does not have added Formaldehyde, or Formaldehyde generators, in order to meet current and
future environmental demands.
* Formaldehyde is a ubiquitous material in our environment. Currently there is no accepted regulatory or
industry definition of "Formaldehyde-Free." Therefore, we purposely refrain from using the term
"Formaldehyde-Free." However, for PRIMAL XYZ we do not intentionally add Formaldehyde or Formaldehyde
generators.
