Unless theres urgent information, expect clinical updates on the google drive and in the
newsletter every Sunday! View Avas Clinical Affairs GoogleDrive and check weekly
for update.
All procedures treatment planned MUST have a diagnosis. This is a requirement and
will be reviewed by Dr. Wolff.
Reminder: if you have completed 5 Class II and/or 5 Class III/IV restorations, you can do
a formative. You must complete one Class II and one Class III/IV formative in D3.
Please be mindful that D4 need to complete their Class II/III/IV competency to get
eligibility for the NERB so make sure you are helping them screen for
NERB/competency lesions.
Off session protocol:
1. You must have a 90% a"endance rate in clinic.
2. You must ll out an o-session form 24 hours in advance and get approval from your
GPD and A.C.. If you are not in clinic please email your GPD and cc your Academic
Coordinator for permission.
3. Place the appointment in the opposite clinic for an example 4CDB would place their
o- session appointment in 4CDA Super OverFlow secLon. There are 6 Super Overow
spots. If the 6 spots are full you can not bring in the paLent. No, 4p.m. is not an opLon
for D3s.

CURRICULUM UPDATES AND REMINDERS

This Google Doc (NYU Login) has been compiled by Nabil and Stephanie to serve as a
quick reference for course requirements, attendance policy, grade breakdown and other
details. It's still a work in progress and will be updated over the next few days. More
information regarding clinical requirements will be coming from Ava and Stefan.
Please note that it is your responsibility to review all the course syllabi.

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

amazing. We will be randomly selecting several students to partake on the outreach.
Please look out for an e-mail this weekend, to know whether you have been chosen to
participate.
If anyone has any issues or ideas for local outreaches, feel free to let Regina know!

TIPS FROM UPPERCLASSMEN

If you are having a hygiene student do a prophy on your patient who reports sensitivity, then
treatment plan for "local anesthesia" as well. They can only do what is in your treatment
plan, so even if you or the hygiene student want to give anesthesia, it has to be in the
treatment plan for the hygiene faculty to allow it.
Do you have Lps from upperclassmen? Please share them by emailing me at rola@nyu.edu
