WEEK OF September 14, 2015

GENERAL REMINDERS

Tip from Dr. Bucklan: The U.N. meets for the next 2 weeks. Very strong suggestion. Do
not use surface transportation between the east river and 3rd avenue. And, between
23rd street and 72nd Street.
This is a reminder that effective September 1, 2015, all faculty, students, and staff
who are assigned to patient care areas at NYUCD will be now required to wear
disposable lab coats as a component of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
This change reflects NYUCD’s ongoing efforts to provide ever-higher health and safety
standards to protect against exposure to contaminants in the clinical setting.
Students wear yellow, faculty will wear white.
You must clip or pin your name tag on the disposable gowns so they are visible

TIPS FROM UPPERCLASSMEN

Make sure the hygiene faculty signs the hygiene competency paper after your hygienist is
done with the prophylaxis then submit it to your GPD in order to receive credit. When
treatment planning, include the adult prophylaxis as well as the DDS hygiene CEE code.
Hygiene will complete the adult prophylaxis treatment and your GPD will complete your DDS
hygiene CEE treatment.
