Step 2. Movistars Staff will perform additional tests to verify the correct performance of the network by consulting
all the involved areas (20 minutes)

4.2 Obtaining Upgrade Reference Documents:

To obtain the system software (.cc), paf.txt, license.txt, and other documents, contact Huawei technical support
personnel or visit http://support.huawei.com.
Assume that ME60 V600R005C00SPCb00 is used. To obtain reference documents for this version, perform the
following steps:

1 Visit http://support.huawei.com.

Go to step 2 to register if you log in to the website for the first time. If you are already
a registered user, go to step 3.
2 Click Register and follow instructions to complete the registration procedure. If
registration succeeds, you will receive your user account and password in your input box.
Keep your password secure.
1.

Click Login, and enter your user name, password, and the verification code.

2.

After the login succeeds, choose Support > Software Center.

3.

In the Software Center page, choose Version Software > Data Communication
Product Line > Network Access > NE40E. The series are listed on the left.

4.

In the navigation tree, choose Quidway NE40E> NE40E V600R006C00SPC300.

The software file list and document list are displayed.

5.

Click a required file name and follow instructions to download the file.

PAF and License Files:

The V600R005C00SPCb00 system software provides a set of core PAF and license files by default.
6
Huawei Technologies-"Proprietary"

______________________________________________________________________________________________
Datacomm Method of Procedure

During an upgrade, choose either of the following types of PAF and license files for system startup:

Default PAF and license files: The system can directly load these files from system
software but not a CF card during startup.

User-defined PAF and license files: These files are uploaded to a CF card, and
commands are used to allow the system to load them at the next startup.

Ensure that all necessary network cables and console interface cables are available. Obtain a spare LPU for each
working LPU or at least for each type of LPU. Get a spare SFU ready for each type of SFU and a spare MPU for
each type of MPU.

Login through the console port: The non-authentication mode has been canceled. When you log in for
the first time, you must configure a password and keep this password properly.

Save the configuration file of the source version: If the upgrade fails, you can roll back the ME60 to the source
version using the saved configuration file.Save the configuration in a .txt file.

4.3 Replacing CFcard:

Huawei authorized CF card is required to be purchased; otherwise all unexpected issues are
independent of Huawei.
Beside all files in current CF card, the target software package and target patch files can be copied
to new CF cards before upgrade.
CF card does not support hot plug.
New CF cards delivered by Huawei have been formatted already, and can be used directly.
There is only one CF card on of NE40E , and it is on the panel of MPUA. For other types of
MPU, CF card on the panel is CF card2. The other CF card is inside the board. CF card 1 location
on Non-MPUA (NE80E MPU):

Copy current software package (.cc), current patch (.pat or .cc), configuration file, GTL
License, paf, license, constant interface index file (private-data.txt), new software package
(.cc), new patch (.pat or .cc), new configuration file to CF card via CF card reader. If the
device needs to be upgrade, it would be considered that copy both target software package
and patch to new CF card. Please save all before any operation.
Locate to CF card: Before replacing CF card, engineer needs to confirm the location of
chassis and slot ID of the MPU and label on it to avoid mis-operation.
Confirm if the being replaced CF card belongs to master MPU: Check ACT indicator light,
on means it is master MPU, off means slave one.
Run command power off slot slot-id or keep pressing offline button to cut off slave MPU.
Pull out slave MPU and replace current CF card with the new one.
CF card2 is used to store log files. Please concern for copying expected log files to new CF
card, and then substitute CF card2. All files in CF card2 do not impact any for live network.
Push the slave MPU back to slot after replacing CF card. And check MPU state with CLI
display switchover state after slave MPU becoming registered and stable, then run
command slave switchover.
After completing slave switchover and everything is stable, repeat step 3 to 6.

Use the command slave switchover to switchover current Master MPU and Slave MPU board.
Use the command display switchover state to check the MPUs status, until Realtime and routine backup.
Power off current Slave MPU and plug out, replace the new CFCARD, same method as above.

- Upload the file to the router , with the following command tftp get name.dat
- Copy the file to the slave MPU with the command copy cfcard:// name .dat slave#cfcard://name.dat
- Use the command Display license to check if the license is active
- Deactivate the license with the command undo license active.

Step 2. After complete the download of the upgrade files, run the command dir cfcard: and dir slave#cfcard to
