DVD video output format:


1 CVBS (Composite video): Standard yellow RCA video plug
2 SY/SC (Super-VHS): 4-pin round plug.
3 European SCART: 21-pin rectangular SCART connector.
Some players may have additional video connections:
Component interlaced analog video (EIA 770.1). Keeps all three video signals separate.
- Y'PbPr format: 3 RCA or BNC connectors. and may be colored green/blue/red.
- RGB (or RGBS or RGBHV) format: SCART connector or 3, 4, or 5 RCA or BNC
connectors.
Component progressive analog video. Keeps all three video signals separate.
- Y'PbPr format: 3 RCA connectors.
- RGB (or RGBS or RGBHV) format: SCART connector or 3, 4, or 5 RCA or BNC
connectors.
DVI. Digital video output. Uses HDCP for copy-protected content.
HDMI. Digital video in the DVI format (with HDCP), plus digital audio.
DVD audio output format:
1. Analog stereo audio: 2 channels (ML/MR), RCA connectors (red and white) or Scart.
2. 5.1 channels (ML/MR/SL/SR/Cent/LFE): Six RCA connectors or one DB-25
connector.
3. Audio digital output (S/PDIF=Sony/Philips Digital Interface): Optical TOSLINK,
IEC61937 coaxial RCA.
Some players may have additional audio connections:
AC-3 RF audio. Only on combination LD/DVD players. Carries audio from AC-3
laserdiscs. One RCA connector.
High-resolution digital audio.
- 1394 (Fire-wire): rectangular connector. Requires a receiver with 1394 audio input (and
DTCP compatibility).
- HDMI. Requires a receiver or TV with HDMI input.
