generic competencies established by the UPC are capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship, sustainability and
social commitment, knowledge of a foreign language (preferably English), teamwork and proper use of information
resources.
1/5

Specific skills
Develop specialist areas in the field of technology applied to architecture, both in new constructions and in the case
of existing buildings, that is of practical application to the phases of conception and execution of a design and to the
construction industry.
Supervise building designs and construction work or constructed areas in quality assurance procedures.
Act as consultants and professional experts in technological matters for insurance claims, viability studies or
technological matters in judicial situations.
Carry out the inspection and diagnosis for buildings subject to revision or resulting from pathological situations.
Participate and become involved in research carried out in the different university environments, within government
agencies or in the construction industry.
Generic skills
Understand the relationship between the architectural intention of the objects designed and carrying them out
technically.
Make an overall interpretation of the executive plan as the document that defines and details the final aspects of
the global architectural design.
Relate and integrate the industrial production sector into the field of construction.

PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of this masters degree course will be experts with advanced technological knowledge and the suitable
skills to enable them to join research and technological innovation teams in the world of construction. They will be
able to work as specialists in the areas that the sector currently requires most urgently, such as construction and new
technologies, the architectural structures sector, the sector of facilities and energy efficiency and the field of building
restoration and renovation.
