laminar flow of oil with a maximum
velocity of 2 m/s between two
horizontal parallel fixed plates which
are 100 mm apart. Given =2.4525
Ns/m2.
b) Experiments were conducted in a wind
tunnel with a wind speed of 50 Km/hr
on a flat plate of size 2m long & 1m
wide. The density of air is 1.15
Kg/m3.The coefficient of lift & drag are
0.75 & 0.15 respectively. Determine
(1) The lift force (2) The drag force (3)
The resultant force (4) Direction of
resultant force (5) Power exerted by
air on the plate.
c) A 150mm diameter pipe reduces in
diameter abruptly to 100mm diameter.

second, calculate the pressure loss
across the contraction. Take the
coefficient of contraction as 0.6.
d) Water flows through a triangular right
angled weir first & then over a
rectangular weir of 1m width. The
discharge coefficient of the triangular
& rectangular weir are 0.6 & 0.7
respectively. If the depth of water over
the triangular weir is 360 mm, find the
depth of water over the rectangular
weir.
e) The differences in water surface levels
