The citizenship issue my group have chosen to take
up is the battle for human rights. The reason for this
decision is because this issue is very regnant as it
affects a large majority of the worlds population,
whether their problem ranges from racism to human
trafficking of an individual. We will question how this
issue affects a society and how it is still influenced and
enforced today. This subject had caught my eye as it
still remains a long going battle thats lasted for a
number of decades; I find this unquestionably
inspirational as people apart of human right movements
fight for the equality of all. In the U.S., on most given
nights, there are approximately 750,000 people
homeless, and about 1.5m are homeless at some period
in the year (nearly 325,000 of them are young children).
A large fraction may be of temporary homelessness, but
one in five of can be considered chronically homeless.
The pressure group we have chosen to advocate is
amnesty international by advocate I mean we will
support and promote the work that this organisation
does towards human rights. Whilst carrying out this
project my group have taken up; we shall research some
of the key concepts we will be covering in this such as:
Conflict:
Civil war and violent protest lead to the death and injury
of many people which a lot are innocent citizens this is
deemed unacceptable.
Racism:
The abuse one takes basing on their colour of skin and
penalised for it racial abuse affects many people within
communities.

Justice:
Having no freedom of speech and large amounts of
unlawful crimes that are regnant is a sign that injustice
is present.

1.2
The aims my group strive to achieve is to:
1) Promote and advocate their cause.
By promoting and advocating we will gain a
response from our audience and a form of publicity
within the school community making the amnesty
international more popular.
2) Work collaboratively within our group to reach our
full potential. Working collaboratively will benefit
the whole group as we share and give feedback on
our work both improving and helping our progress.
3) Keep recommending deadlines so we do not fall
behind schedule.
This will keep us up to date so we will not fall back
on assignments given.
4) Highlight the way that poverty and human rights
violations often go hand in hand.
Learning that poverty is also a breaching of human
rights as it strips people of common liberties.
By the end of stage one we will be working as a unit
focusing on our weakness and making them stronger
and we plan to reach those aims trough every stage we
move to for a high succession rate.
1.3
My group have found links and we have fully revised our
strategies and researches towards our topic. We have
gathered a significant amount of facts and dilemmas

from our pressure group amnesty international (etc)

locations were human rights violations occur such as a
number of Middle Eastern countries and the Afrikaans
even a large majority of economically developed
countries such as America and the UK.
This research we be demonstrated in the coming
assignments; whether it well be shown as common
facts or just enlarging the topic as a whole by that i
mean the research backing up the quotes and the
accusations.
Research collected will be highly useful; as it will make
our argument firmer and more stable.
1.4
The subject in our group that I feel is very opinionated is
which topic branching from human rights is more
regnant and more of a issue although we all feel the
dilemmas are equally bad as each other we just debate
deciding whether it should be added as it may not be
big of an issue than others.
Personally that is the mutual feeling I get from my
group that is why poverty has been chosen as it is more
current and larger an issue as it spreads globally
throughout our world troubling the richest of nations.
Within our group we have considered to explore a range
of view by interviewing students from all year groups
using a survey designed by Jaemal Fergus on which the
issue they feel should be most focused on; we may have
to exclude year sevens as they will have a highly
different opinion compared to seniors so we may be
mainly asking:
Teachers
Parents/grandparents

emailing our pressure group

school police

1.5
My group consist of:
Conor Coombs.
Darryl Henshaw.
Donell odetola.
Jaemal Fergus.
Junior Briggs.
Lukasz Anulewicz.
I personally know that these are high achieving
students from the 3 years I have known them for.
All aim for the target grade of (A*-B) so the group has
high standards from the teacher viewing our work. I
came to picking my group to boost my level as I know
they will help me and I will give them mutual help as I
am strong in certain aspect as of them.

The roles distributed within the group will project our creatively
as they are unique to our talents.
The roles we have been tasked with are:

The questionnaires Jaemal will produce will give us
mixed opinions helping us by giving more of an
understanding of the situation by knowing two different
views.
Poem - Darryl Henshaw
The poem I will produce will give an understanding of
the hardship and pain the people suffer as well as
leaving the audience with sympathy and the drive to do

more this favours my talents as I am creative in the art

of poetry.
Leaflet - Junior Briggs
This will focus on Juniors talents of creativity as it will
be projected on the leaflet he will soon produce thus
promoting our role and amnesty actions toward these
violations of human rights.
Video &Form Tutor Permission - Donell Odetola
The video Donell will produce will help build awareness
by it spreading through the media such as YouTube this
can help gain publicity meaning amnestys cause is
made popular on a national or global scale
Organiser & PowerPoint - Lukasz Anulewicz
The PowerPoint Lukasz will produce will show the steps
and information on the groups aims and goals it will
achieve and givng an understanding of the wrongs of
human rights violations.
Speech - Conor Coombs
The speech Conor will produce, will give the audience an
introduction and a better understanding on the topic
being presented to them giving them a good chance of
getting involved and taking part of the cause.
I feel these task suited to my colleagues and I will truly emit our
organisation and our talents on this citizenship issue.

My poem...
Diviss, nous automne...(divided we fall)
From the beginning of mankind, humans have strived to ensure
their survival; whether it be war or catastrophes.

These catastrophic events make us stronger and unite us as

one for the common goal.
In the most tragic of times we link arms and support each
other; we help the poor, the innocent and the wounded.
However...times change.
Nowadays the government sucks the liberty of the people as if
they were leeches.
Some individuals feed off the oppression of others.
As their greed increases it engulfs the citizens driving away
hope and determination of finding liberation.
We see aspects of the division of our kind everyday:
Liberia...
Zimbabwe...
Congo...
Iran...
A tip of the iceberg compared to all...

it is up to us to be the change that we want to see in

the world.
