INITIAL FIRING INSTRUCTIONS

(To be used on initial firing or anytime the Griil runs out of pettets)
In order to ensure proper opeiation of the Gritt, you must first
allow the Auger Tube to be "charged' wit-n peilets.

1) ppen the Door/Lid and remove the Porcelain Grill,Grease Drain Pan and Heat Baffle

from inside the Grill.


Make sure the Switch/Dial is in the oFF position. Plug the power Cord
into an
appropriate, grounded electrical ouilet.
3) open the Pellet Hopper Lid and
.losqlq I[qfrgqt. Make sure there are no foreign
obje-cts in the Auger. Turn the Switch/Dial
ON arid look into the pellet Hopper io"
confirm the Auger is turning. At the same time, pllce your fingers over tne rirepot
and feel the air movernent from the Draft Inducer Fan. Look Io see if the
Hot Rod
.. is getting hot. Do Nor roucH lr! Turn the switchiDiat oFF.
4) fU the Pellet Hgpp_elwith TRAEGER BBe PELLETS. WARN|NG! usE oNLy
TRAEGER BRAND BBQ PELLETS, which are speciticarly maOe to work in our
Grills. NEVER use_ heating fuel peliets in the Giitl aue t"'potentiil hazardous
contaminants that
Tay.be present. Turn the Switch/Dial ON, seiin" femperature
Dial to HIGH. Note: During ihe initial charging of the Auger, iiwili iire tim'b

into the Firepot, turn the Switch/Dibi Of f.
5) Turn the Switch/Dial ON, set the Temperature Dialto SMOKE. Let the pellets come
to full flame. Once you see flames come out of the Firepot, tuinlne Switch

and let the Grill cool down
RECOMMENDATION for ease of clean-up:Line the Grease Drain pan
with heavy
lduly aluminum foil. Be sure the edges ina,enas.otlhe-fpjl iretight agalnst itr"e
bottom of the Grease Drain Pan.PoJition the Heat Baffte, i[6 ioiilinEd G6ase oiain
Pan and Porcelain Grill in their proper locations.
6) Yvith the Door/Lid open, turn the 'Switch/Dial ON and set the Temperature Dial to
SVOIF. !-n approxirytgly 2 minutes you will notice whitish-gra/ Jmote .oring-out of the Grill ut
ll" Pellets ignite. ffttir assuring the Peltets n?ve ignited, close tf,e
Door/Lid and set the Temperature Diai to any cdoking setting o"sr6a.
7) Note: Before qgoking the first batch of fo6d in yolr newbrill, you will need to
season the Grill. Jut! the Temperature Dial to HlCn and run idr +S minutes at
this setting with the Door/Lid ilosed. This must be done befoie cooking ant
food on the Grill.
8) The Grill should be allowed to pre-heat for approximately 1O minutes with the Door/
Lid closed before placing food in the Grill.

ALWAYS START THE GRILL ON SMOKE SETTING


WITH THE DOORYLID OPEN
once the Pellets are ignited, close the Door/Lid and
set the Temperature Dial to any cooking temperature desired.
