Present perfect: Other time expressions.

We can also use the present perfect to talk about something that started in the past and continues in the
present.

Richard has been in Canada for six Months. He has been there since December.

We can also use the present perfect to say that something happened a short time ago (Just) or that
something happened before you expected (Already) or that something has not happened until now (Yet).

Present perfect vs Past simple


We use the past simple to refer to a finished time. With the past simple you usually say the exact time.

I rode a camel in 2010.


- I bought souvenirs the day before I came back to Santiago.
We didnt stay in a hotel last summer. We stayed in a cabin.
They tried some typical food when they went to India.

We also use the past simple to ask When? Or What time?
