Classical Interviewing Questions (* required)

* 1. Tell me a little bit about yourself.

2. What do you consider to be the best or most valuable contribution you made to the
organization for which you last worked?

8. Tell me about a time when you had to communicate difficult news to a customer or
co-worker. What did you do? What was the result?

9. Describe a situation when you felt uncomfortable with a decision that was made by
your boss or a direct report. How did you make the situation better? What did you
do? What was the result?

10. Give me an example of when you had to accomplish several tasks that needed
completion simultaneously. How did you establish priorities? What was the
result?

would you be described?

4. Describe the 2-3 most important events in your work or educational experience?
What made them so important to you?

* 5. What were you making in your last position and should we pay you more or less?

6. What travel limitations do you have?

* 7. Tell me about your family.

8. Tell me about a time when something you were trying either failed or didn't have
the expected result. What did you do to "fix" the situation? What could you have
done differently that might have produced a different result?

9. Describe a situation when you had a serious problem between you and a co-
worker. What was the root cause? How did you approach the problem? How did
you involve others to help you solve the problem?

10. Give me an example of when you wanted to give up and didn't. What was the
situation? What did you do? Why did you make the choice you did?

11. If you were running a race and you overtook the last place runner, what place
would you be in? (Most people answer "last ", but the right answer is you can't
overtake the last place runner since you are the last place runner. You can
overtake the next to last place runner.)

difficult for you?

* 3. What makes you special? How would you describe you giftedness?

4. What is your opinion of the last company you worked for? If you could have
change one thing, what would it have been?

* 5. If we were within 10% of your salary requirements, would you accept our offer?
Well, then, exactly what are your salary requirements?

6. Why should I hire you?

* 7. Where are you from? Tell me a little about your family's origin - your cultural
background.

co-worker or customer. What caused the problem? What did you do to address it?
What did you learn from the experience?

9. Describe a situation when you felt totally overwhelmed? What were the
circumstances? What alternatives did you consider to change the situation? What
steps did you take to correct the situation?

10. Give me an example of steps you have taken to improve your skills. How has the
results improved your performance?

scheduling your time, how did you determine what was the top priority? How did
you convey to others your decision?

9. Describe a situation where you were a team member and help the team arrive at a
decision which was counter to your own opinion. How did you change your
position? How did you communicate your original and final point of view?

10. Give me an example of a problem that you've recently solved. What was the
situation? What will be the short-term and long range impact?

Mary)
