Human Resources
McKinsey & Co
Dubai, UAE
Dear Ms. Muzna Al Bashrahil,
As a full-time Strategy & Finance MBA candidate at the ESADE Business School, I am writing to express an
interest in the role of a Junior Associate in Dubai. I met Marina Lopez, a recruiter at the ESADE Career forum
and an alumnus, Sabahat Salahuddin in London. Both mentioned McKinseys forward-thinking approach in
coaching and strategy. When I researched the firm, I came across an article entitled How to put your money
where your Strategy is. After reading it, I was convinced that the firm incorporates the ethos in the training
program as well. I believe that the mentorship, the content gathering and the collegial collaborations will solidify
my assimilated skillset and give added value to my desired career path, the team and the firm.
Ive taken on challenges that have groomed analytical skills. At ESADE, I have studied under Constance LtolfCarroll, Pablo Triana & Goldman Sachs alumni Santiago Minguez to grasp complex concepts in asset
management, private equity, corporate finance and strategy, thus building on existing Mathematics &
Economics, and International Relations backgrounds. To put classroom theory into practice, I joined GAES as a
part of the Action Learning Consultancy Project. As a consultant, I polished quantitative problem-solving
capabilities by working in a team to developing a product and risk strategy for the Spanish market. Upon
completion, my team was ranked at the top in the program for creating the strongest impact for the client.
Additionally, my training has also been complemented by non-academic roles such as the VP of the Consulting
Club & as an Investment Board Member of the Finance Club.
In addition to the MBA, I have built leadership traits through diverse engagements. In Dubai, I assessed interfunctional financial and marketing problems faced by a newly launched airline. Our team analysis led the
company to implement a transparent system to ascertain returns from investments. For Channel-4 in London, I
managed two documentary teams in high-risk environments, including a project that resulted in an amendment
in Londons housing laws. With Philip Morris in Islamabad, I trained in econometric modelling to increase
revenue margins for Marlboro. Through the support of teams and mentors, I succeeded in each position by
rapidly adapting and learning analytical competencies to improve processes for maximising growth.
Coupled with these capabilities, my personal pathway also reflects curiosity and drive. I am fluent in five
languages and am learning Italian through marriage. Career opportunities in international cities contributed to
developing articulate communication skills and cultural sensitivity. It also encouraged me to successfully
establish an entrepreneurial project Solar Pakistan Ltd.
In summary, I have demonstrated a commitment to seek at McKinsey & Co by gaining objective problemsolving skills by working in diverse industries. The additional mentorship and learning will further hone my
existing abilities. The early responsibility and access to senior management is exactly what I desire to
professionally groom my career aspiration and contribute to the division and role above par.
If you would like any further information, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.
With Regards
