Techniques that I have applied during my fieldwork
During fieldwork I have applied some techniques of case work as well as social work for
collecting data, diagnosis and treatment:
Case study
This is a kind of qualitative analysis. I used this method to collect in depth data about the
clients and to explore their prevailing situation of their daily life.
Interviewing
Through face-to-face interview, I collected data, facts and information concerning their
problem for diagnosis and treatment.
Observation
4

Following this technique, I observed and took notes on their physical expression such
excitability, cheerfulness, gloomy and frustration as well as sulky situation through
participation.
Listening
To know the problems of the clients deeply, I did let them speak first. Then I talked. I
followed the technique due to facilitate the clients to be free in speaking and express their
grievances to me frankly.
Questioning
In order to obtain specifically necessary information and to lead the clients' conversation
from pointless to fruitful channels, I sometimes questioned them.
Case recording
Through this technique, I recorded the discussions and deliberations of an interview as
meaningful as possible.
Treatment
In treating the clients, I used two methods namely Supportive Treatment Method and
Modifying Treatment Method. I have helped them through reassurance, logical discussion
and advice, guidance as well as emotional support.
Process recording
By applying this technique, I recorded the discussions and deliberations of an interview as
meaningful as possible. Process recording is daily note work, what is being done in the
agency. To keep this recording within 60 working days, I included all activities or
information in every working day.
Treatment plan
In treating the clients, I used two methods namely Supportive Treatment Method and
Modifying Treatment Method. I have helped them through reassurance, logical discussion
and advice, guidance as well as emotional support. Treatment plan is important to reduce
problems among clients.
Diagnosis
Diagnosis is important for case study since it started with interview continued to problem
solving. After psycho social study diagnosis is completed then psycho social problem is
found after following the case history. It is completed within 60 working days.
Document Analysis
Document analysis is the process of secondary source. Previous reports/records are important
for document analysis. Its the process of information collecting. It helps the social worker to
draw investigation. I am collecting some document from these agency.
