SPECIFIC COURSE INFORMATION
a. Course Description
The course introduces the students the several analogies to obtain capacitance of a parallel plate
capacitor and also the magnetic field itself and show how it rises from the current distribution. It
also considers the force on current-carrying conductors and the applications of Maxwells
equation. It also gives the student a good background of transmission line, guided wave, and
electromagnetic propagations (antennas).

SPECIFIC GOALS FOR THE COURSE
a. Course Objective
The course aims to provide the students the understandingof the concepts of steady magnetic
field, time-varying field, uniform plane wave, transmission lines, and antennas. The course will
also introduce different experimental laws of Maxwells equations. This course will enhance the
problem-solving and analytical skills of the students.
b. Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, the students shall be able to:
1. Explain the concepts of capacitance and time-varying fields and Maxwells equations
2. Apply the Maxwells equation in solving problems.
3. Described the physical description of transmission line both in analytical and graphical
way.
4. Differentiate different types of wage propagations and guided waves.

5. Described the different types of antennas.

c. Student Outcomes Addressed by the Course

Students should be able to:
a. apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve complex engineering
problems;
