October 15 2015 The Speaker National Assembly Parliament House Place D'Armes Port Louis Republic of Mauritius Madam Speaker I am writing to you with regards to the following two issues; 1. The
point
of
order
that
I
had
raised
at
the
National
Assembly
on
the
13th
of
October
2015
on
the
issue
of
your
decision
to
ask
The
Honourable
Rajesh
Bhagwan
to
withdraw
certain
words
which
you
had
in
your
judgement
deemed
to
be
unparliamentary.
I
had
asked
you
to
look
at
the
Hansard
of
the
15th
of
September
2015
at
B/485
where
Mr
Bhadain
states:
Allez,
lot
cou
mo
invite
twa...and
again
Mr
Bhadain:
Lot
cou
mo
invite
twa...
I
have
noted
that
the
Hansard
does
not
reproduce
what
Hon.
Bhadain
also
stated
to
me
from
a
standing
position.
This
was
taken
up
in
Weekly
magazine
in
the
Editorial
of
Touria
Prayag.
Hon
Bhadain
had
in
fact
stated:
Toi
mo
pa
pou
invite
toi.
He
stated
that
he
would
not
invite
me
to
the
MBC.
The
words
of
Hon
Badhain
clearly
show
that
he
is
the
one
who
decides
whom
to
invite
and
whom
not
to
invite
at
the
MBC.
This
clearly
substantiates
the
position
that
Hon
Bhadain
has
his
hands
in
the
daily
running
of
the
MBC
in
other
words,
manipulation
as
a
term
is
more
than
justified.
I
therefore
request
you
to
listen
to
the
recordings
of
that
particular
sitting
and
to
cause
the
necessary
amendments
to
be
brought
to
the
Hansard.
It
should
reflect
what
was
actually
said
in
the
House.

REPUBLIC OF MAURITIUS Member of the National Assembly
2. The
Mauritius
Broadcasting
Corporation
covered
the
sitting
of
the
13
of
October
2015
in
their
new
bulletins
on
television
and
radio
on
that
very
day.
That
particular
news
item
was
not
fair
and
balanced
in
terms
of
coverage.
It
did
not
report
in
words
and/
or
visually
that
I
had
raised
a
point
of
order
on
that
issue
and
that
I
had
intervened
on
the
matter.
The
Mauritius
Broadcasting
Corporation
is
allowed
into
the
National
Assembly
with
the
permission
of
the
Speaker.
In
my
humble
opinion,
when
they
are
allowed
in
the
House
for
coverage,
they
should
act
with
fairness
and
with
impartiality.
I
also
believe
that
the
Speaker
has
the
right,
responsibility
and
duty
to
ensure
that
those
principles
are
clearly
adhered
to
by
the
Mauritius
Broadcasting
Corporation.
I
therefore
request
you
to
remind
the
Mauritius
Broadcasting
Corporation
of
that
fact
and
to
ensure
that
they
make
the
necessary
amends.
Yours
respectfully
Shakeel
Mohamed
