Srikrishna Mohan and Ramkumar Mohan are young Carnatic Vocalists, popularly known as Trichur Brothers. They
are sons of Senior Mridanga Vidwan Shri Trichur R Mohan and belong to a traditional business family based in
Trichur, Kerala. Srikrishna and Ramkumar initially trained under Shrimathi Balamani Eswar. Later, they were
fostered by Professor Neyyattinkara Mohanachandran in the nuances of music . Currently they are guided by Padma
Bhushan Shri PS Narayanaswami. The Brothers are noted for their strict adherence to Patanthara and
uncompromising attitude towards Bhavam. They also adopt a unique style for alapana, where both exchange phrase
after phrase, long and short, and participate equally in exploring a raga. Many well known critics have pointed that
this is a unique and effective manner of raga delineation and that it is hitherto never attempted by any duo singers.
Srikrishna and Ramkumar did their schooling at Harisrividya Nidhi, Trichur. Both are Chartered Accountants.
Trichur R Mohan started performing at the tender age of 14, by accompanying none other than the legend Shri
Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar at Sri Koodalmanikkam Kshetram at Irinjalakuda, Kerala where the great
Chembai Bhagavathar blessed him with the title Sangita Lokathil Dhruvan. Since then, Mohan had the great
privilege to accompany Sri Chembai for more than 100 concerts. Mohan had his initial training under Shri
Koduvayur Radhakrishnan and subsequently his advanced training was under Mridangam Maestro Shri Palakkad
Mani Iyer, Shri Umayalpuram SivaRaman and Guru Karaikkudi R Mani. H.H. Sri Kanchi Acharyas have blessed
Mohan conferring the Asthana Vidwan honour.
Rajeev Mukundan, violinist A Kanyakumaris student, is a web application developer by day who takes the Carnatic
music world by storm in the evening. At 24, he is a highly sought-after accompanist who has performed with many
leading artists. His talent, sense of humour and easy-going personality make him one of the Carnatic music
fraternitys favourite artists.
