PORTRAITS IN GRAY: A CIVIL WAR PHOTOGRAPHY
EXHIBITION
ENVIRONMENTAL & HERITAGE CENTER
Buford
Civil War Photography Exhibition is a Civil War exhibit
focusing on photography of the era. The exhibit is
primarily composed of 70 high-quality enlarged
reproductions of Confederate soldier portraits from
the David Wynn Vaughan Collection, the largest
collection of Confederate images in the United
States. The exhibit explores themes like the daily life
of a soldier, weapons of the Civil War, photography
technology of the Civil War period, children and the
war, and more. The exhibit will include real Civil War
period artifacts and fun hands-on activities. The
timing of this exhibit is ideal because 2015 is the
150th anniversary of the end of the Civil War.
