Mushrooms add more than just flavor

Whether its a portobello or a porcini, a
crimini or a shiitake, the humble mushroom really is a health giant. Mushrooms
are meaty, flavorful and filling too, plus
theyre fairly inexpensive and available
year-round. But those are just the nice to
haves. The real benefits to eating mushrooms: they can help modulate blood glucose levels, fight off viruses, play a role in
weight loss, and help with absorption of
important nutrients. Plus, theyre known to
boost immunity. Serve them as a main
course; add them to pasta sauce, eggs, or
fresh salads; or make them the star of their
own burger. No matter how you slice them,
fungi are fabulous.
