Topic: Condition of the Children in Armed Conflicts
Sponsors: The Commission

Reaffirming its full commitment and the crucial importance of the Optional Protocol of
the Convention on the Right of the Child on the Involvement of Children in armed
Conflicts in order to eradicate the situations under which children suffer.

Fully aware of the complexness of the issue which involve the belief and tradition and
bearing in mind the time involved in making a change

Expresses its grave concern at the negative effect cause by the lack of security provided
to children by their own countries they occupy due to the inexistent stability and
constant armed threat

Realizing that children are a vulnerable minority the future of a country and the most
vulnerable members of country

Considering that the continuation of these disputes are likely to endanger international
peace and security

The Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice:

1. Urge the countries who haven’t signet the Optional Protocol of the Convention
on the Right of the Child on the Involvement of Children in armed Conflicts to
do so in order to be able to help our children under the same circumstance, and
trust that those countries who sign it will follow it, if not the single cases will be
sent to the Security Council to be treated on its own discretion

2. Call upon United Nations Children’s fund and the United Nations Education
Scientific and Cultural Organization to design and sponsor educational
Campaigns, these campaigns will focus on teaching the threats of armed
conflicts and the participation on them. These campaigns will be offered to the
countries that are willing to take it. And will be placed as soon as possible in the
Agenda of the General Assembly

3. Condemns the recruiting of children for armed conflicts and further recommends
a follow up by the courts of each country and if needed by the International
Criminal Court to judge them upon these crime. This will be made depending on
the magnitude of the crime it will be held within the country or at the Hague.

4. Recommend the International Court of Justice and The International Criminal


Court to provide countries which have children soldier that are in need of a trial,

to provide them with a Protocol to follow on how these trial, to provide them
with a Protocol to follow on how these trials should be done, kind of
punishments and further regulations on their labouring patterns.

5. Has resolved that children who have suffered traumas or psychological damage
caused by armed conflicts must be treated and aided, therefore exhorts the
organization of SOS Children’s Fund within their shelters as well as provide
these service to the refugees held at the United Nations refugee camps.

6. Deplores the modification and improvement of refugee camps of ACNUR in


order for them to provide children with higher education and higher security
within the shelters. This will be financed with the current funds that are destined
to these camps. When children come of age to take their own decisions they may
choose to stay and aid as United Nation volunteers and if it is needed for the
countries in which the refugees are found, and ambassador of this countries
government may visits and report the conditions of each camp, however this
may not interfere with the jurisdiction that has been awarded to the United
Nations

7. Exhorts the nations within this Committee to work on their dialogues and
international relationships among them in order to eradicate and avoid these
conflicts. If needed the United Nations may provide with counselling if needed
on party-Talks and possible debates.

8. Call for the protection of all the population living in the territories that suffer
under armed conflicts. This to prevent further human right violations such as
peoples “disappearances” and the social campaigns promoted by UNESCO and
the International Monetary Found, having in mind the creation of an
environment of respect between civilians and ensuring this region to be a place
where its population is capable of leading a good life.

9. Requests the creation of a Commission of Experts on the matter of Social and


Basic needs to inspect in intervals of every 6 months the refugee camps which
will be receiving the economical support and finance to evaluate their situation
in order to priories those camp who are in greater need. This commission will be
financed and controlled by the United Nations Economical and Social Council
reporting the results to this very council.

10. Provide the organization Develop Africa Inc. with the materials needed to
spread sexual education within the Refugee camps in order to prevent a possible
aver population which would generate scarcity and endanger those living within
it.
