there should be no leakage of flux that is why the gap is minimum and for cooling
purpose

1. RT FLEX, everything about fuel system.( Feed pump, booster pump, V8 H.P
pumps, IFA,safety valve, Riser pipes,Rail- fwd and aft, ICU,construction and working,
Rail valves, signal, sequential firing)

2. Deep honing in Sulzer, not fully satisfied with better oil retention, and better ring
performance, reduced scuffing. Agreed with abrasive wear, but said something
related to metallurgical concept.

3. Reduced scavenge ports in Sulzer, ( partly satisfied with reduced NOX, tried
explaining about more scavenging time because of reduced height, he said
something related to it. Gave up.

4. Types of sootblowing. Air, steam and partly prompted by him, said ultrasonic soot
blowing, where the frequency creates vibrations to knock off the soot.

Working and construction of blower (Retractable lance, gland packing, limit


switches, timer. Asked about any drain arrangements, told him about automatic
drain.

5. Why evaporator outlet led to reefer compressor crankcase? To prevent liquid


hammer, assist in oil cooling.

clearance, load & viscocity... other than these he will not accept because i have
tried like surface finish).

2. what is oil wheep & whirl?

3. thin shell bearing do not have any dowel pin or any locking screw...then what is d
arrangment in it so that it will not rotate in its housing.(bearing shell have NIP about
0.25 - 0.55mm...so when we tighten bearing keep d frictional force between shell &
housing increases very high....this prevent rotation of shell...........(if u tell him that
nip provide interference fit he will not accept it)).

4. how u get cylinder liner wear report hourly in running condition?

5. main air compressor all safties? which type of lub oil used in air compressor?
(synthetic oil e.g. alkyle benzene, diester, polyalphaolefins, phosphate ester,
polyolester etc.)... material of fusible plug?

Ans. During combustion, hydrogen from the fuel will reacts with oxygen in air will
produce water along with heat, when this water takes heat it becomes steam. If it
recovers the heat from the steam then it is called higher calorific value. If it not
recovers the heat from the steam then it is called lower calorific value....
