Learning Outcome: To be able to sing the song of Lovely Evening or
Awake! with dance steps.
Objective/s:
1. Recognize songs or music pieces with varied textures.
2. Determine the intervals and where the part begins and ends.
3. Distinguish monophonic, homophonic, and polyphonic music from each
other.
Teaching Strategy
Opening Activity
1. Review two-part round songs, Row, row, row your boat
C 2/4 do.
2. Do a tone drill using the C scale to ensure pitch accuracy.
3. Have a drill using the rhythmic/melodic patterns of the new
songs for study.
D.A.
1. Introduce the new lesson. Tell the pupils to open their
textbook to pages 53-54. Have them read the description of a
three-part round.
2. Complete the phrases on the flashcards shown at the start
of the lesson.
3. Sing or play a tape of the song Lovely Evening.
4. Teach the song by rote. It has only three lines. Sing it
repeatedly until the class can follow.
5. Ask the children how does the song make them feel.
6. Have the class study the second song, Awake! It has a
Formative Assessment
Write the so-fa syllables of
Lovely Evening.
Opening Activity
1. Recall the songs Lovely Evening and Awake! The
class must be ready to do three-part singing.

1. Have the pupils open their textbook to pages 53-54. Let
them follow the directions on how to sing three-part rounds.
2. Have them work on Lets do this on page 55 of the
textbook.

1. The class will now enjoy singing the three-part rounds.

2. Have the class sing in so-fa syllables, in loo, and in words.

Opening Activity
1. Sing or play the tapes of the three songs for study. Show a
picture of a school with a forest-like background and with a
group of children singing to the music of a guitar in a corner.
2. Show the relationship of the songs to the picture.

1. Present the music score of each song as you sing its lyrics.
2. Introduce the song Trees, explain briefly why we need
trees in the environment. To introduce Usahay, tell the
pupils that it is a Visayan song with a lovely melody. Finally,
to introduce The singing School, say that it recalls the
happy and inviting atmosphere of a school.
3. Sing Trees solo while the children follow the progression
