3.1. Installing the printer driver
[Installing from "Setup.exe"] (Recommended)
i. Run the following file in the downloaded folder.
Windows 32-bit: WINX86\SETUP\SETUP.EXE
Windows 64-bit: WINX64\SETUP\SETUP64.EXE
ii. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Select the "Set Default of Printer Control Language to PCL6" checkbox to
set the default printer language to PCL6 for all printers that support
this printer language.

Any available printers that are connected to the same network as your

driver acquires information from the printer automatically.) If you want
to set the printer as your default printer, select the "Set as default
printer" checkbox.
[USB connection]
Connect the printer to your computer as instructed on-screen.
(The printer driver acquires information from the printer automatically.)
Installation is complete.
Note:
If the printer driver fails to acquire the printer information during the

If the printer information is incorrect, follow the procedures in

------------------------------------4. Precautions
- Make sure that the printer information is configured to the printer driver
correctly before printing. If information configured on the printer and
those of the printer driver are different, it may cause error printing.
If you change a connected printer manually or if you switch between a laser
printer and a business inkjet printer, be sure to check the printer
information.
- If you install this printer driver using "Point&Print", access the printer
driver's "Printing preferences" window from the client computer before
printing. Doing so updates the information on the server computer to the
client computer correctly.
- This printer driver is compatible with Epson products. Available features
and available optional unit information may be limited by model.
- If the printer is connected to your computer using a USB cable, the printer
driver will not acquire the printer information automatically for the
following models: AL-C4200/AL-C3800/AL-C2800.
Please configure the printer information by following the procedures in
[Configuring manually] of "3.2. Configuring printer information".
- Use this print driver with the newest version of the printer firmware, or
some functions may not work correctly.
- Using this printer driver on a Citrix server with a Client Printer connection
may cause a printing error. We recommend using the Citrix Universal Printer
Driver for a Citrix server instead.
- When printing in grayscale using ESC/P-R languages, color inks may be used if
you have selected the following paper types. This is because a mixture of colo
r
inks is used to create black to maintain the print quality.
