Proposed - Intervention

Major Hazards and Impact of Hanarchar Union

Hazard
Flood:
People and their livestock do not have safe place during
flood.

Impact:
This type of intervention shall ensure safety of livestock
and human during flood.

Rational for the Proposed Intervention

Proposed Intervention located at Island Char which is

surrounded by the Meghna River and un protected.

This Char is now use as grazing field. Presently around 550
nos. of cow and oxes are rearing by the Farmar. They
produce per day 800 liters of Milk.
During flood and any tidal-surge this char have been
Inundate by 4 to 6 feet height water during that time
farmers are face serious problem for safety sheltering of
their livestock. For that reason they force to sale their
livestock in low price. Again after receding the water ( after
flood ) they purchase another livestock in high price for
continue the farming.

Basic Information on Proposed Scheme

Location on Khash Land.

Noc has given by AC land.
Bottom area is 61.0 Meter X 45.73 meter.
Design height is 2.44 Meter.

Flood Level is 1.83 meter.
