Principal of MRSM Tun Mustapha, Mr. Samsudin bin Suip, Mr. Amir Hassan bin Abdul Wahid
and Mr. Hj. Azman bin Mohd Yusoff from Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan MARA, together with
team from Telekom Malaysia, vice principal of academics, Mr. Eddy bin Awang, vice principal of
students affairs Mr. Syed Abdul Sabul bin Imam, vice principal of cocurricular Mr. Mohammad
Nizam bin Asmuni , heads of departments, counselors, teachers and students of MRSM Tun
Mustapha Tawau Sabah.

We are leaving old-style education. We are abolishing rote-learning. We are building students
who would critically contribute to the prosperity and sustainability of our nation.

With that aspiration MARA takes the initiative on 26 November last year to launch an ambitious
project called MARA Smart Education. With this project, 12 MRSMs have been selected to be
equipped with upgraded ICT facilities, high-speed internet access and wide-coverage of wi-fi
network system. Not just that, MARA also went a step forward creating a web-portal called
MARA Smart Edu for all teachers and students.

in the 21st century the world is looking into wok force with creativity and innovation skill. The
world values those with ideas to invent and create. To be able to be creative and innovative one
has to be critical in thinking and has problem-solving skill. And to adapt all these in a new
environment we have today, students and teachers together collaborate and communicate in a
new dimension of internet education. With these in mind, we now have MARA Smart Education
portal where teachers and students interact, learn, assess, and share information of ideas at the
tip of their finger and at the click of their mouse
Why all these qualities are searched-for in future workforce and working environment? Because
in information-age jobs, students need to think deeply about issues, solve problems creatively,
work in teams, communicate clearly in many media, learn ever-changing technologies, and deal
with a flood of information. The rapid changes in our world require students to be flexible, to
take the initiative and lead when necessary, and to produce something new and useful.
Therefore teachers and students, take the opportunity and zoom ahead into the future of
unimaginable. Make full use of resources given to expand ideas, create communication, and
collaborate with each other and we know, all us us know, this initiative called MARA Smart
Education program will take us to the world beyond future
