Dear John,
The next Neonatal Resuscitation Programme will take place as follows:
Date of Programme: 10th November 2015
Time of Programme: 08.00-12.00hrs or 13.00-17.00hrs
You have been scheduled to attend @ 08.00hrs
Venue: Classroom 1, School of Midwifery
The NRP programme (6th Edition) is being rolled out here in The Rotunda Hospital since July 2012.
Prior to attending the course, each participant is required to successfully complete an online
examination. On the day there will be Performance Skills and Integrated Skills stations. The final
part of the NRP Provider course will be a simulated resuscitation which will be filmed followed by
debriefing. The video recording will be used for debriefing only and destroyed immediately after
the session.

You are required to study the new Neonatal Resuscitation student textbook 6th edition (available
for loan from the Hospital Library ext 1795).
Please find your user id & password for the online exam together with details on
accessing/launching this with this email. This online exam must be successfully completed
prior to the course date.
Please note that this password costs the hospital 10 each so please take your time and dont
rush through it.
Once you activate any of the lessons you have 14 days to complete the exam. This online exam
must be completed by the 6th November 2015 & you are asked to advise me that you have
successfully completed it. You must pass each lesson with a score of 80%, if you fail any one
required lesson a second time, you will have failed the entire NRP exam and will be required to
get another password and complete another exam.
All staff must complete lessons 1-9 inclusive of the online exam.
The NRP Provider Course has been reduced to a half day (08.00 12.00 or 13.00 17.00hrs)
please see above which time you have been allocated. This half day course must be completed
within 30 days of passing your online examination. Otherwise the examination becomes invalid
and will need to be repeated.
Please bring a copy of your examination verification certificate on the day of the NRP course to
show that you successfully completed this exam. It is advisable that you print an extra copy for
your own records.

On the day of the course, participants should wear their usual work clothes e.g. scrubs / uniform.
The purpose of this is to add to the realism of the simulation experience.

A copy of the textbook may be borrowed from the Hospital Library and Information Service. In
order to borrow this material you must be registered with the Library and hold a current
library B number.
1. Course participants are required to borrow materials under their own B number. Materials
will not be issued on behalf of other users.
2. Course materials must be returned to the Library on the date of course completion and not
later than one statutory week from course date.
3. The condition of loan will ensure that users who fail to return borrowed materials will
have the current cost of material deducted from their next salary payment. The
current replacement cost is 43. All borrowers must sign the above agreement on issue
of material. Those who fail to meet the terms of this condition may not borrow
material.
Please do not write or deface the textbook as this is not helpful to future borrowers of the
book.
Participants are encouraged to practice their skills before the programme date. The Clinical Skills
Room in the School of Midwifery is set up to facilitate this (please contact me for access code to the
room). Should you have any questions or queries prior to the programme please contact me
extension 1495.

Yours sincerely,
