FEAST OF ALL SAINTS Next Sunday, 1st November the Church celebrates the Feast of All
Saints (in old English 'All Hallows' - from which the term 'Halloween' originates - the Eve of All
Hallows). The Feast honours the triumph of God's grace in the lives of all those who are now in
heaven.
ALL SOULS DAY is celebrated on the following day, Monday, 2nd November. Here we pray for
all who have died in Gods grace and friendship, but may still need our prayers as they prepare
to enter into the fullness of heaven. This is why we pray and offer Masses for our deceased
relatives and friends during the month of November in particular.
WELCOMERS needed for the 9.45am Mass to greet Parishioners and to give out Mass and
Hymn books.

served with the Knights of Saint Columba in Slough throughout his adult life and eventually held
the position as Grand Knight. He was also a Governor at Our Lady of Peace School into his
early eighties when dementia started to take its toll. He was 95 years old when he died at a Care
Home near Market Harborough on 17th October. A Mass will be held for him in Market
Harborough on Wednesday, 28th October. Any messages of condolence from those who knew
Tom may be sent to the undertakers:- Mr Chris Stamp, J Stamp & Sons, 'The Chestnuts', 15
Kettering Road, Market Harborough, LE16 8AN. or by email to chris@jstampandsons.co.uk with

Parish? Liturgy of the Word with children is a simpler version of the Liturgy of the Word. When
we gather together, young and old, we are part of one assembly. Although they are in a separate
place, children are still part of this one assembly and still celebrating the same Liturgy of the
Word as the adults are, but adapted specially for them. You may like to lead a session, help out
or share your ideas no experience is necessary as the plan is to provide a simple and effective
format to follow help and guidance will always be available. Please sign up on the sheets that
are in the porches at Our Lady of Peace Church. This will of course be in accordance with the
Diocesan Safeguarding procedures, and you may be required to have a DBS check.
