• Served as Senior Technical Advisor to the Admiral/Chief Executive Officer.
• Directed activities involving repair, preservation, maintenance and activation programs for ships of
command.
• Managed the 24/7 ship database for all equipment and readiness of one aircraft carrier and seven
smaller warships.
• Coordinated and planned priority of ships for overhaul. Contracted for repair work by commercial sources.
• Supervised shipboard upkeep and preservation of hull, engineering, electrical, electronic and ordnance
systems for eight ships.

• Second in command of an AEGIS Cruiser that deployed to the Baltic Sea for NATO operations and the
Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea and to the Persian Gulf for combat operations against Iraq.
• Led combat strikes against Iraqi forces and infrastructure during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
• Designed and led the training that resulted in winning the 2002 Battle Efficiency, 2002 Secretary of Navy
Environmental Quality and the 2002 Surface Fleet Atlantic Safety Award and created a warship that was able to
meet combat tasking in both the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf with an excessively abbreviated work up cycle.
• Managed the operations of a warship in port, at sea and in combat and the performance over 450 personnel
across the engineering, logistics and operations spectrum.

Personnel Distribution Officer, Naval Personnel Command 2000


- 2002
• Personally planned and executed a process for reducing the excessive time in position (past the maximum
required time) of officers serving in the Mine Warfare community and revitalizing the viability of this necessary
warfare skill.
