SUMMARY
I would like to think that during my career, I was one of the best at what I did. The reference (included) from my
last job speaks for itself. I was regularly asked to help in problem stores and I look back at my career to date,
with many great memories. My commitment and dedication was noted many times and i am proud of my
achievements. I was particularly proud of my attention to detail and my work ethic. Once you have those in
place, then the financial successes should follow.

WORK HISTORY
Sales and Finance Officer, 08/2010 to 03/2015
Brentwood Community Print Brentwood
This community interest company is a project, run mainly by volunteers and some paid staff. The purpose is to
build the confidence of people that are in recovery from mental health problems. In this print shop we use work
and peer mentoring to give skills and build the confidence for those people that have often been in isolation. I
was tasked with looking after the bank accounts, pay the suppliers, process the wages, look after new and old
clients, provide quotes for new work, plus many other duties. I was paid 16 hours a week and did 30. This was
the only way to get the job completed. However, the job took its toll on my health and I resigned.
Store manager, 04/1998 to 01/2008
Jessops Lakeside Shopping Centre
To oversea the successful running of this retail outlet, which had a high profile, owing to its location and
being one of the premier shopping centres in the country. In lakeside it was extremely challenging to make a
profit, due to the exceptionally high running costs. But the team achieved fantastic performances over a 10 year
period. In year one, we took approximately 650,000 in ex vat sales and by year 10, we had amassed 1.4
million. The standards were high and the team was first class. We acquired many accolades from head office. All
of this from a 1300 square foot unit.
Fundraiser, 09/1997 to 01/1998
Wandle valley wildlife hospital Wallington
I left Blockbuster to follow this personal project with a close friend. Some dreams don't work out. I left, as the
position was withdrawn and my contract was terminated.
Store manager/Area manager, 04/1991 to 09/1997

Blockbuster entertainment various

Starting as assistant manager, I was promoted to store manager after 6 months. I worked in many different
locations, as the company expanded. I was responsible for all aspects of running a large retail outlet, which
included cash handling, training, merchandising, delegating to staff, setting up new promotions and
monitoring customer service. Being placed in problems stores, to turn around poor performance, was a
challenge that I particularly enjoyed. I opened several new stores in Essex in 1993 and 1994 and in 1995, I
was promoted to area manager. Ultimately, even though this position was a success, I preferred a team around
me. Multi site management wasn't for me.
Section head, 08/1987 to 06/1989
Underwoods various, london
Underwoods chemist was a similar operation to what Boots is now. It still remains my favourite job, as its
where i cut my teeth and found my first success. As section head i would look after an area of about 1000
square feet and the products were electric, audio, photographic and developing and printing. I was based in
the city. During lunchtime, it was like Mcdonalds restauran. Incredibly busy and very exciting. When boots
took over underwoods i decided their way was not for me and left.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
With regret, my health is not was it was. I am looking for part time work, as I feel that my experience could be of
great value to any employer. I remain focused and commercially minded. Unfortunately, I am not able to work
full time. My health should not be an obstacle to an equal opportunities employer.
