The family structure above is an extended family, according to its

structure and arrangement. The said family is the Medillo for Floricele side
which are the mother in the family and the other family is the Dizon which
is the side of Reynand the father in the family. The family of Dizon is
composed of father, mother, two siblings, one aunt, grand mother, grand
father and their three grand son/grand daughter.
They live in the Masalukot I Candelaria, Quezon but the good thing
is the lot which their house is located is on their own, according to Maam
Cecil the grand mother in the family, she said that the lot and house are
real property of their family. The lot is come from her mother who serves
as an inheritance of her mother before it dies. The house is being remodel
with the help of her husband Mang Florentino.
The Dizon family is a local citizen of the Candelaria, the same with
the side of Maam Floricele the Medillo family. According to Maam Floricele
she met Reynand on one of the canteen at the market. When they two
decided to be married they decided to live at the house of Floricele Maam
which is located at the Candelaria, Quezon.
When there is a problem the decision making is sometime coming
from Mang Florentino, but the most final decision in the family is coming
from the father in the family Mr. Reynand. But in terms of health condition
of the family member particularly the children the decision is depend on the
two women in the family the grand mother and to Maam Floricele.

Analysis/Interpretation
In the said information above you can find/site that the family of
Dizon is having a high trust, and communication with each other. The
family became stick to each other because of the good open
communication with each member of the family. So that we can say that
the family of Dizon is having no potential problem in terms of
misunderstanding with each other.

As shown above we can say that the income of the family is coming
from the work of the father and mother of the family. The salary of the
father who have a amount of P 8,000 a month who work at SM as a teller
we can say that the salary will fit for their need as a family, if they are not
extended type of family. Thanks to the income of the mother who have a
salary of P 16,000 as a SM supervisor. As the data shown the family is
having a good financial status, if they are not extended. But the condition is
they are extended type of family so the sum up of the income of the father
and mother, having a amount of P 24,000 a month will not fit because they
are large in the family.
If the father is the decision maker, in terms of financial budgeting the
one who task on this is the mother. The mother is the one who will set the
basic necessities that they are need for a month or week. The mother also
successfully budget the money for electricity bill, they did not pay for their
water bill because they have a electric pump and tank so the only bill is for
electricity. The mother also budget the money for the weekly allowance of
their son/daughter, and their allowance for expenses while in the work at
Lucena City. Although they are large in the family they said that their
money have been budget in a nice way by the mother. The mother tactic
help the money sustained their basic and some luxury need although it is
not totally large amount of money to fit the need of an extended type of
family.
While in terms of their clothing they sometimes buy for their
son/daughter. But in some cases they did not buy for their clothes, they
just buy for the children. Although they buy some clothes they budget the
money in a good way with the help of good thinking of the mother that’s
why she is the one who task to manage the money.

Analysis/Interpretation
The data above shown that the salary of the mother and father of the
family is good for their basic needs and luxury. The problem is they are
extended type of family which the member is dependent to them, so the
income of their two will not eventually fit for their need. But through a good
management of the mother to the money they handle the daily needs and
some luxury for their son/daughter. All in all we can say that they have
proper clothing for everyone, proper food and proper needs are given to
the son and daughter of their mother and father.

C. Home and Environment

Housing

In terms of the housing condition of the Dizon family, it is made up of

wood and concrete and some steel bar at the window. Although we can
say that they housing condition is in a good setting. According to them they
sleep in a planned way, they are three rooms at the house; the first room is
for Mary, Loyce, and Julian, which are located at the right side of the
house which you can see upon entering on the house. While if you will go
straight you will hit the second room which are belong to Mang Reynand
and his family. If you will not go straight and you will turn left and then go
straight again and have your final turn at right side you will hit the room of
Mang Tino and Maam Cecil, while Maam Lailani sleep at the living room
but sometime she sleep with her nephew, Mary love.
All in all the house is having a moderate size that I think will fit for
the size of their family. It has a terrace which is the first thing you will site
upon entering at the gate of their house. Their terrace has been divided in
a ¾ way because the other part is used as a garage and another room if
they have a visitor.
After you’ve been enter and you are at their terrace, when you will
go straight you will find their three ways going in the different part of the
house. If you will go straighter you will see their wall having some picture
frame of their family, some are graduation picture and some are outing
which are located on the cabinet, located below the picture frame at the
wall.
If you will stop and choose to go right you will site the three doors
the one is for their toilet and other two is for the family members. While you
are facing the door of the toilet and if you will go on the right side, you will
hit the room of Mary Love, Loyce and Julian. While if you will going on the
left side you will see the room of Mr. Reynand and his family.
The dining area and living room are located on the left half of the
house, upon seeing it you will see the three couches which serve as their
resting site while they did not doing anything. In front of the living room
their entertainment site are located. When you will go straighter after the
living room you will hit their dining area and their kitchen that upon seeing
is noticed as potential breeding site of microorganisms because there are
so many excess food and dirt you can find on it. Their kitchen is having a
good site of breeding of roaches and rodents because it have some object
which are broken and some garbage, it is also a dark place because of
very low location in the kitchen. If you will go on the right side of the dining
area you will see another room which is belong to the grand mother and
grand father in the family.

Analysis/Interpretation
Although the family is having a good housing condition, in terms of
size and composition of the housing material. If you will go inside you will
find that their house is not totally clean and prone to breeding site of
roaches and rodents. They did not pay attention on its condition, according
to them the house is being clean in a assign basis policy, but on the
condition of the house you will think that its being cleaned for a weekly
basis. But in terms of the structure inside the house, they are adequate
room for every member of the family they have toilet on their own; they
have kitchen and dining area. The main problem that can be noticed is the
garbage and some wreck object under the kitchen, which can be a
breeding site of the insects, roaches and rodents, according to them they
clean it they just wait for the collection of the garbage. But the problem is if
the children will going to play inside the house they will be expose on that
garbage and possible they will be bite by some roaches and rodents,
which are the product of the bad condition of the garbage and wreck object
under the kitchen.
Environment

The location where the family live in is on the Masalukot I on one of

the subdivision, St. Clarrise. The environment on that subdivision is good
they are so many trees and there is a minimal number of vehicle are going
on that place, just a tricycle only. Due to that condition we can say that the
pollution on that place is minimal and the level of warm air residing on that
place is in a good level because of the some tree which is located on that
subdivision.
But there are some problems that you can be sited on the
environment of the St Clarrise subdivision, in which the Dizon family’s
house is located. The one problem is in terms of their proper waste
disposal, although there is a garbage collector on that subdivision. The
waste disposal is not properly organized, according to them the collection
of garbage is every Monday but in the last previous week the garbage
collection have been stopped without good reason, so the vacant yard on
left side of their house is served as a garbage disposal site, and just to
minimal the amount of the garbage that will be thrown on that site, some of
their neighbor burn their waste, the good is the Dizon family did not burn
their waste they buried it sometime, and burn also sometime.
The second problem you can be noticed on the environment of the
house of Dizon family is their drainage system, although they have
drainage system on their side of house. The problem is the drainage have
not in good flow because of the garbage that are blocking the way of the
drainage which have been bring by the rain to the drainage. They did not
clean it so the problem became stagnant and can be noticed having a
mosquito egg and some insects. Which are very dangerous for their family,
because of that condition they need to clean that area and washout the
garbage on the vacant lot?
In terms of their neighbor, they have a good neighbor maybe due to
the situation that they neighbor is their cousin, aunt, and some are their
friend. They only problem is their neighbor on the front of their house,
according to them that neighbor is nagger and playing a loud music at
night. That altered their sleeping pattern, they talk to that neighbor but the
problem is they continue on playing loud music at night.

Analysis/Interpretation
Upon analization I can say that the family’s environment has a good
side for the many trees and bad side for the drainage system and garbage
disposal. There are so many diseases they can acquire if they did not
clean the garbage on the vacant lot. It can become a breeding site of many
disease carrier animals, like rodent, cockroach and flies which can bring
bowel irritable disease if they land on the food of the family member that is
eaten. Their drainage system also makes their environment high in treat of
occurrences of many diseases, primarily it can provide breeding site for
mosquito. That can cause dengue which arte very fatal for the young and
adult. There are some problems you can notice on their environment, like
their neighbor who play loud music at night, but this is not highly
recommended to be change because it is not high risk for mortality rate of
the family of Dizon.

Social and Health Facilities Available

The family of Dizon’s house is located in a St. Clarrise subdivision
which is not totally away from the Masalukot I Health Center. That’s why if
one of the family member is sick they immediately bring it on the Health
Center. The Health Center of Masalukot I have a good facility that can
accommodate some mild diseases that can occur to the family residing on
the Masalukot I. but in some case the Dizon family brings their sick family
member to the nearest hospital if the disease is unable to be treat at the
Health Center.

Communication and Transportation Facilities

The transportation used by the Dizon family is just commuting in any
tricycle, because they have not their own vehicle to be use. In some case
the student on that family are being late because the access of
transportation is very hard, maybe due to the long travel from the
municipality of Candelaria wherein slightly far from Masalukot I. In the way
of their communication they use cell phone and land line, they sometimes
used the land line for specific purpose. But in terms of private and general
information they use their cell phone, they also use it in communicating
with each member of the family.

Analysis/Interpretation
I can’t say that in terms of Social Health Facilities, the Dizon family
has no problem on it. They use the Health Center in a good way and they
always bringing their family member to the Health Center if it has disease.
But the sad thing is the Health Center has no capabilities to treat a fatal
disease so that if that disease occurred in the family of Dizon, they have no
choice to bring it immediately at the nearest hospital. According also to the
information above I can say that the Dizon family have a good way of
communicating with each other. They only problem is their way of
transportation, wherein the affected one is the student and the one who will
work at night or even in morning.

D. Health Status of each Family Member

According to the interviewed done I can say that the Dizon family is
having a good conditioned in terms of their health. In their previous
diseases that occurred is just a matter of flu like symptoms. The only fatal
conditions that are occurred on their family are diabetes that has been
occurred to Maam Cecil. The other conditioned occurred is a mild stroke
that has been occurred to Mang Tino which makes him hospitalized for a
month.
Based on the nutritional assessment that I’ve done, it indicating that
the Dizon family have no proper information regarding on the nutritional
vegetables and fruit that are needed for their good lifestyle. Alick and
Adeleid have been suffered from flu like symptoms liked fever, cough,
headache and body weakness which have been wipe out for just a matter
of 1 week.
Upon seeing the children on the family of Dizon we can say that the
family have a good development on the growth of their children. I can say
that they are in good development because the children have been fit on
their proper BMI according to their sexuality.
 The only thing that should have a focused attention for me is for the
conditioned of Mang Tino which have been suffered from mild stroke. The
mild strokes are not caused by genetics that Mang Tino inherits from her
parents. That conditioned have been acquired through a bad lifestyle in
terms of eating fatty foods, although they are eating healthy fruits and
vegetables they always eat fatty foods which are dangerous to their health.

Analysis/Interpretation
Upon the analysis that I’ve made I can say that the Dizon family
have a partially good lifestyle in terms of eating fruits and vegetables. They
only problem in terms of their health is the occurrences of certain type of
diseases like fever, cough and cold. Based also on the information I can
say that they following the instruction of the Mid-wife in terms of feeding
the children of nutritious food, that I think help the children gained to fit on
the level of BMI that have been based on the separate chart for male and
female children. The only potential problem that I’ve been thinking that can
occur to them is hypertension and obesity due to their bad eating habit in
terms of eating fatty foods.
