An innovation in stainless wires.

Youll notice the difference right away.

Time and time again, ESAB process application engineers

throughout the world demonstrate that quality will repay your
investment in a superior wire. ESAB stainless wires deliver
improved productivity, better weld performance,
and greater overall profitability.

If duty cycling and package change-outs are

a concern, we recommend our MarathonPac.
The octagon-shaped drums are environmentally
friendly while being QS 14000 compliant.

ESABhas just brought stainless welding to a new level of technology. These innovative MIG, TIG and SAW
products are manufactured utilizing an innovative process that greatly improves feedability and helps to deliver
a consistently stable arc.

The wires.
Improved feedability.
Spool after spool drum after drum there are three
major reasons why the qualities of this matte surface
stainless steel wire from ESAB delivers superb and
consistent feed performance.
First the matte surface allows the feed rolls
to gain a better grip on the wire and eliminate
troublesome slippage.
Second the dry manufacturing process provides
improved glide and stiffness, thereby lowering the feed
forces required to drive the wire through the feeding
system. This is especially important for high cycle
intermittent welding operations.
Third the manufacturing process permits a stricter
control over the cast and the helix of
the wire. These are two essential
properties with spooled wires
and need to remain as
constant as possible.

Taken together, these three reasons mean better

welding performance with greater arc stability,
improved weld quality, and higher production output.

Constant current transfer.

Another critical contributor to arc stability
is the efficiency of the current transfer between
the contact tip and wire. Because ESABs new
drawing process produces a wire with improved
columnar strength, you achieve a more constant
current flow without voltage fluctuations.

Better spooling.
Wire diameter needs to be tightly controlled
to achieve regular burn-off. The improved
manufacturing process used by ESAB results
in a perfectly rounded and consistent diameter.
This also aids precision layer-winding onto a coated
wire spool basket and in turn delivers friction-free
unwinding with a reduced feed force requirement.

Greater arc stability, better weld quality,

and higher production output.

Accurate control of cast and helix ensures easy

de-coiling and results in a perfectly straight wire
at the contact tip.

A cleaner wire for a cleaner finish.

This new wire fromESAB is manufactured using
an innovative drawing process. The matte surface
is finished with a special feed-aid that does
not accumulate within the feeding system
or welding gun, and has no adverse effect
on the quality of the finished weld.

High material purity.

ESAB is a specialist in stainless steel welding
and one of only a few worldwide companies
to manufacture its own stainless steel wires.
Our total quality control concept places
exceptional demands on our raw material
suppliers. We confine key alloying elements
and impurities of chemical compositions to levels
well within those stipulated under AWS standards.

The world leader in welding

and cutting technology and systems.

The MarathonPac. Endless feedability.

For many ESAB customers, MarathonPac is a key
element in maximizing production efficiency and
quality. In fact, MarathonPac can cut downtime
on spool changes and maintenance by almost 95%.
MarathonPac bulk packs contain 250 kg (550 lbs.)
of welding wire.

Welds are always well positioned and perfectly

straight. The unwind process from the drum is
automatic, so no separate de-coiling equipment
or feed forces are needed.

Easy recycling.
MarathonPac comes in octagonal cardboard
drums which can be folded flat after use for easier
recycling. The high quality cardboard can command
a premium price in the recycling market.

Perfect delivery to the welding head.

The special coiling technique used in packing
the drum ensures that your stainless steel
wire is never twisted and never causes
arc wander.
