INTRODUCTION
India as we know is relatively still a young nation and has nowhere near reached its true potential
as a super power, even though we are the largest economy in the world with a population
exceeding 1 billion people, rich in natural and human resources it is only when our resources are
planned and executed efficiently when we will realize our potential.
Having said that, over the past few decades India has seen exponential growth in our population,
industrialization and urbanization, the growth spurt was so sudden that it was over whelming for
our pre-existing cities that couldnt deal with the rapid change. This has called for an
expansion to cater to our growing demands, which is where the real estate industry comes in to
play. The real estate industry will be responsible for planning, mapping and executing the future
for us, and that is why I chose to do my internship with a prestigious Real estate firm like Roots
Developers Pvt Ltd. As I believe it is the industry of the future.
COMPANY PROFILE
INTRODUCTION TO ROOTS DEVELOPERS PVT. LTD.
About the Company
Roots is one of the emerging business houses in the NCR. Our success is linked to the
trust & confidence shown into us by our worthy clients and a dedicated team of about
300 employees; which consists of professionally tough and well qualified, engineers,
marketing personals, supervisors, technicians etc. who have also contributed their chunk
in our growth.
Roots has its own roots embedded into the tough & hardened foundations of land bank
of hundreds of Acres and various businesss like:
To be able to gain the working knowledge and skills in the real estate industry.
The main objective of the study is to know about the role that real estate developers play in the
real estate industry as a whole.
Working as a team with different people from with different backgrounds.
Developers buy land, finance real estate deals, build or have builders build projects, create,
imagine, control and orchestrate the process of development from the beginning to end.
Developers usually take the greatest risk in the creation or renovation of real estateand
receive the greatest rewards. Typically, developers purchase a tract of land, determine the
marketing of the property, develop the building program and design, obtain the necessary public
approval and financing, build the structures, and rent out, manage, and ultimately sell it.
Sometimes property developers will only undertake part of the process.
Land development
Purchasing unused land for a potential development is sometimes called speculative
development.
In general, land development is the riskiest but most profitable technique as it is so dependent
on the public sector for approvals and infrastructure and because it involves a long investment
period with no positive cash flow.
After subdivision is complete, the developer usually markets the land to a home builder or other
end user, for such uses as a warehouse or shopping centre. In any case, use of spatial
intelligence tools mitigate the risk of these developers by modelling the population trends and
demographic make-up of the sort of customers a home builder or retailer would like to have
surrounding their new development.
EXPERIENCE
The experience during my summer internship was an eye opener for me, as a new recruit is that
the firm will use you as a resource to their convenience and disposal. As a summer intern there
are no designated jobs or responsibilities, you will do what they require you to, some days we
were working the phones, emails etc. and some days we had work on site, as to see to some tasks
as picking up the flexi glass, or installing of the hoardings etc.
