1969-2015
It is with great sadness

that the family announces the
passing of a young and beautiful spirit gone too soon.
Tammy Jean Grant passed
away suddenly and unexpectedly at Calgary Foothills Hospital on Thursday, September
24th, 2015.
She is survived by her mother Donna Boggs, her daughter Leanne (Alex) Winsor,
son Alan (Shara) Grant and
granddaughter Kenzie Winsor.
She leaves behind her partner
Bruce Walker, sister Shirley
(Robert) Page and brother
Glen Boggs as well as several
nieces and nephews who all
adored their Aunty Tammy.
Tammy Jean Grant was born in High River,
Alberta on March 31st 1969 to Elton and Donna
Boggs and grew up in Elkford, BC. After graduating
from high school, in early 1990 Tammy found her
home in Kaslo, the beautiful town she discovered
on a road trip through the Kootenays. Tammy was
a dedicated and extremely hard worker, and over
the last seven years she was the proud co-owner
of the True Blue Lodge in Kaslo. Tammy made
friends with absolutely every guest who walked
through her doors. She knew she had finally found
her dream job when she realized that she could still
consider herself to be working, even while relaxing
in the sunshine in her bikini.
Tammy was full of life and light and lived every

second to the fullest. Her smile was truly infectious,
her hugs unforgettable and she had a genuine
kindness that was felt by any and all who knew her.
Tammy was the fun gramma, the crazy fun aunt,
the super cool mom ... and a best friend.
Tammy had made Kaslo her home and that is
where she has been laid to rest. In the words of a
friend... Be like Tammy. Have fun, be happy, dont
judge, work hard... Love, enjoy life!!
She will be missed deeply by those she has touched
in her lifetime.
At this time, the family would like to
extend their sincerest thank you to the
community of Kaslo and to everyone who
has supported them during this time of
unimaginable sadness. There are too many
to name names, but to Tammys amazing
friends and family, please know that all
of the home cooked meals, flowers, cards,
prayers, hugs and love have been received
with true appreciation. The family is
forever grateful for all of the help during
this difficult time.
Until we see you again, enjoy the sunny
beaches and beautiful skies and have a
margarita or two for us!

Gerrard Historic Cabin

Restoration Project
Columbia Power has provided $2500 to the Friends of

the Lardeau in support of their Gerrard historic cabin
restoration project. The only remaining original structure from the Gerrard town-site, Friends of the Lardeau
identified the cabin as a key heritage asset for the Lardeau
Valley that should be maintained for the use and appreciation of residents and visitors.
The restoration project will include replacement of the
existing structure, installation of three plexi-glass windows, replacement of the cabin floor and the entrance
deck, railing and stairs. The Gerrard historic cabin project is a continuation of the work of the Friends of the
Lardeau at Gerrard including a new Lardeau River viewing platform and revitalized campground. Audrey Repin
of Columbia Power recently met with Friends of the
Lardeau representative Grant Trower outside the Lardeau
Valley Museum in Meadow Creek.

Importance Of Digestion

be hosting a lecture on digestive health by Lisa Kilgour,
BCs favourite nutritionist! Her presentation will explore
the connection between gut bacteria, the immune system
and the brain. Participants will learn how to use diet and
good bacteria to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as how to use diet, dietary fat and gut bacteria
to reduce the fires of inflammation in the body. Finally,
Lisa will explain how to recognize good and not-so-good
fats in ones diet and how to feed the brain for optimum
performance! Join us at the Adventure Hotel, 616 Vernon
Street in Nelson, on Thursday, October 29 at 7 pm. Admission is free, so please arrive early as seating is limited.
