OKTAGON-PLUS the intelligent formwork tie rod system
Processing:
OKTAGON-PLUS
is
a
one-piece
system
for
producing all kinds of
formwork tie rod systems.
The time-consuming and imprecise cutting of thruty sleeves is not necessary since
OKTAGON PLUS is always
supplied in one piece at
the exact length required.
Spreader cones are injection-moulded on and break

only once the formwork is
clamped at the predetermined
breakback
point.
When the formwork is

struck, the spreader cones
can be easily removed.

NEGATIVE EXAMPLE: Result when conventional systems are used

A large plastic washer remains visible. In addition, the plastic may be compressed if the formwork is
clamped too tightly. When the formwork is struck, it returns to its original length, so that the spacer projects
by up to 3mm above the surface. This also happens when the spacer is fitted at an angle. This inevitably
leads to a less-than-perfect appearance of an exposed concrete wall. If the concrete wall is to be worked
after striking, there can be bonding problems between the plastic washer and the plaster or filler material.

If there is no proper compression of the concrete near the
tie rod sleeve, the sealing
tape serves as an additional guarantee of airtightness
around the tie rod system.

Plexus reinforcement connection systems are type certified and fulfil the requirements set out in the leaflet "Bending
of concrete steel and requirements of casings" published by the DBV (Deutscher Beton-Verein E.V.) in the wording of
January 2011. Pull out lengths are deduced in accordance with DIN 1045-1:2008-08, section. 12.3.2. No approval by the building inspectorate is required for the Plexus system.
The surface coating of the casing has been classified as 'smooth' in accordance with the IBAC (Institut fr Baufor. Aachen)

Examples for processing of "Strukturmatten"
The surface have to be clean of dust, fat, colour or other materials.
Put the adhesive streaky on the complete surface in distance of 20cm.
After approx. 2 minutes the Strukturmatte can be applied on the surface of the formwork.

Application-specific information for all formwork systems
Transport:
MONOTUB formwork must always be laid over a large surface to avoid pressure points forming. Any transport damage or other
defects are to be stated on the delivery papers upon receipt of the goods. Our guarantee only extends to defects which are noted
on the delivery papers immediately upon arrival
Storage:
MONOTUB formwork is 100% waterproof; it can be stored outdoors without problem and installed in all weather conditions., To
avoid heat accumulation from linings, do not cover.
Installation:
Do not exert excessive force on spacer or a reinforment that has been bent too far. The formwork may be damaged by spacers or reinforcement irons. Position tubular formwork in axis on
foundation side and fit with wooden cross or with "fixation for columns".
On the cover site, set up in a perpendicular position using lashing straps and tension and
pressure-reistent adjustable struts available on site; secure against upwelling.
Pour concrete (following DIN 1045):

Tubular formwork can be concreted in a singel procedure. Using a concrete pump or discharge
tube, pour and compact at intervals of approx. 50cm. Only use an internal vibrator for compacting. Neither the pump tube nor the vibrator may touch the inside of the tubular formwork.
When installing without installation pipes or tubes, the fall height of the concrete is to be limited
to approx. 1,5m (see DBV leaflet). When all work is completed, recompact and check perpendicularity and dimensions.
Removal:
Fast and simple opening with the aid of the integrated rip cord for circular formwork. With
square and rectangular formwork tubes, a knife should be used. Energy-saving removal of formwork from the concrete column. Internal insert can be left on the concrete column as protection

Caution:
With the MONOTUB "smooth" tubular formwork, gap taping the face does not provide absolute
protection from the penetration of concrete emulsion between the lining and the formwork! This
can be avoided by using the discharge tube! Concreting should be performed slowly to allow
air bubbles forming between the lining and the formwork to escape to the top!
Shortening tubes on site:

Release rip cord, cut tube and affix cord while tense, with the cut edge towards the bottom. If
the cord is also cut when the tube is shortened, and the tube is positioned with the cut edge
to the top, the cord may slip between the outer shell and the lining, living a visible trace on the
finished concrete column.
