OBJECTIVES:
To recognize some of the linear circuit applications of the
operational amplifier.
To use the OP-Amp as Integrator and Differentiator for producing
different output waveforms.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
Breadboard.
Function Generator
CRO.
DMM.
(10k,50k,100k) resistances.
(103&105) F capacitance.
741 Op-Amp.
PART (A): The Summing Amplifier
NOTE: [BEFORE CONSTRUCTING THE CIRCUIT, CONNECT PIN 7 OF THE
CHIP TO Vcc AND PIN 4 TO Vcc]

Fig. 1
PROCEDURE:
1. Setup the circuit as shown in Fig. 3.
2. Adjust the DC-Voltages to Vcc=15V and -Vcc=-15 V.
3. Apply a sinusoidal signal having an amplitude of Vac=1 Vp-p &
a frequency of 1k Hz to the AC-input of the circuit.
4. Use the CRO to display both the input and output waveforms.
5. Switch the F.G. OFF,CH #1 of the CRO to DC-input & CH #2
of the CRO to DC, then plot Vo versus time (DC-only).
6. Switch the F.G. ON, CH #1 of the CRO to AC-input & CH #2
of the CRO to AC, then plot Vo versus time (AC-only).
7. Switch CH #2 of the CRO to DC & plot Vo versus time (DC &
AC).
8. Calculate the DC gain (Av), AC gain (Av) & Vo expression (AC
& DC).

PART (B): The Op-Amp as Integrator:

Setup the circuit as shown in Fig. 2.

Adjust the DC-Voltages to Vcc=15V and -Vcc=-15 V.
Use the CRO to display both the input and output waveforms.
Apply square wave signal of the FG with (Amplitude voltage) and
(Frequency) at Vac = 2 Vp-p & 5 kHz.
5. Plot to scale Vi and Vo versus time on the same axes from the CRO
and measure the voltage gain.
Note: Av = y/x= V/t
6. Change the signal of the FG to sinusoidal wave signal.
7. Plot to scale Vi and Vo versus time on the same axes from the CRO.
8. Calculate the phase angle between Vi & Vo practically:
Note: = (t/T) * (360) = .
9. Change the signal of the FG to triangle wave signal.
10.Plot to scale Vi and Vo versus time on the same axes from the CRO
and measure the voltage gain.
