Jumaa Prayer

for the Muslims of Africa and beyond

West Africa Advanced School of Theology

October 30 , 2015

The Lord sets the prisoners free; the Lord opens the eyes of the blind (Ps. 146:7b-8a).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

BURKINA FASO: Please pray for a young lady attending an Assemblies of God high school. When her family
learned that she had accepted Jesus, they brought fetishes and forced her to perform a pagan ceremony. Intercede for
her, for her walk with the Lord, and for her family. Pray for other young people who face similar challenges when they
turn to Christ, that He would help them to stay faithful.
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO:
A student asks us to pray concerning a problem that has arisen as Muslims gain more influence in the economic
sector. These businessmen hire people, especially youth, and require them to work on Sundays, thus luring many
away from attending church. In his own church, one of the elders was hired and now has fallen away. Please pray
that believers would stand firm in their commitment to the Lord and His Church, trusting Him to meet their needs.
A student asks for prayer for his Muslim uncles, that they would come to know Jesus. Pray also for open doors to
talk of spiritual things with a Muslim friend.
GHANA: An alumnus requests our prayers as, in December, he launches a ministry called Single Parents
Foundation in his large city. His goal is to help single parents to educate their kids, especially those in Islamic and
slum areas. Pray that the Lord would give him wisdom as he implements this, that He would open doors and guide
this pastor to those whose hearts He has prepared to receive the counsel and the gospel.
TOGO: Pray for two Muslims whom a student/pastor has befriended. One has been listening to Christian programs
on satellite TV and radio; pray that the gospel message he is hearing from these broadcasts and from his pastor friend
will take root. A second works at a financial institution in town; pray that through this pastor and co-workers God
would touch him and his family.

In the News
This past week, in a refugee camp in Jordan, an ISIS assassin disclosed ISIS' plans to infiltrate this and other camps,
disguised as refugees, to kill or subjugate Christians. The anonymous agent had observed how Christian relief workers
treated refugees with kindness and reported the plot to a UN aid worker. Christians in the camps have been very aware
that their lives are in danger, and some have left to avoid cruel treatment. Pray for strength for the Christian workers
and that their kind acts will continue to be a testimony in these dark places. Pray that the Lord would strengthen,
encourage, and protect His people here, and bring their persecutors to himself. For more, see http://bit.ly/1k7IsQJ.

From Global Initiative*

Intercede for ministries to Muslims in France, where for each evangelical Christian there are ten practicing Muslims.

For Muslim Women**

Pray for a ministry in Greece that has strategic opportunity to bless Muslim refugees as they land on Greek
shores. More than 500,000 refugees have arrived by sea in 2015, and new boats land every day. Most are fleeing
Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Pray for this ministry and for believers and churches who can have contact with those
looking for hope,
