Congratulations to Stephen L. Mabe, Hank Myers, Chuck Hicks, Steve Hurst and Chris Fishel, in recently
completing the requirements and becoming Certified Aging In Place Specialists (CAPS). This certification allows
their companies to expertly remodel homes for maturing adults. This gives older individuals the opportunity
to remain in their homes safely, independently, and comfortably, regardless of age or ability level and with the
reassurance of being able to call their house a “home” for a lifetime.

I would like to thank all the Homebuilder members who supported our raffle during
the Triad Home and Garden Show and also the members who donated money at the
January meeting. I would also like to thank Nora Fain and Janet Neal for all their hard
work on our Women’s Council booth as well as New Garden Nursery for donating the
beautiful pots and plants that were part of our raffle prize. Sheri Coram with Prudential
Carolinas Realty purchased the winning ticket at our Preview Party on
Thursday. Thank you also to all the volunteers who staffed our booth
during the show.
Our speaker at our March 2nd meeting will be Dr. Dennis Moser who
will be updating us on the plans new Career Center and what is going on
currently in the Career Center. One of our Lewis Wilson Scholarships
is awarded annually to a student at the Career Center. We will also
be discussing and scheduling our other projects for the remainder of
2010.
