STARK TRIPLE INSULATED WIRE

Triple insulated wire is a kind of high performance insulation wire, the wire has three insulation layer,
the core, is among the first layer is a golden brown polyamine thin film, the thickness of a few
microns, but can bear the pulse high voltage of 3 Kv For 2 To 3 Seconds, the 2nd is high insulation
paint coating, the third layer is transparent glass fiber layer, the total thickness of insulating layer is
only 20-100 um, its advantage is high dielectric strength, between any two layer can withstand the
safety of the Ac 3 Kv, electric current density.

STARK TRIPLE INSULATED WIRE

Transformer designed to meet the IEC/VDE safety specification requirements for creepage and
clearance must adhere to one of the following specifications:
1. VDE0805
2. IEC950
3. EN60950
4. UL1950-3e
5. CSA 950-95
The engineer must be aware that one specification does not encompass all applications. For
example, the IEC has specifications for office machines, data-processing equipments, electro
medical equipments, appliances, and others.
Originally these IEC specifications were developed around linear 50 and 60 Hz transformers, and
were not, always, conductive to optimal designs for high frequency, such as switching power
transformers. The complexity of a standard, high frequency, switching type transformer, designed to
the IEC/VDE safety specification. In any switching transformer, coupling has the highest priority
because of the leakage flux.
The triple, insulated wire was developed to meet the above specification and eliminate the need for
three layers of insulating tape between primary and secondary. Also, the triple, insulated wire
eliminates the need for the creepage margin, and now, the whole bobbin can be used for winding.
This wire can also be used as hook-up wire, from the primary or secondary, to the circuits, without
the use of sleeving or tubing.
